This jacket has been specifically designed for those who travel by plane as it is the result of painstaking research on the most suitable materials for reducing weight to a minimum. Nothing has been left to chance in the search to achieve a record lightweight BCD, beginning with the material 210 denier nylon which is light yet very strong. All the D-rings are made from a light alloy (Size Medium weighs only 5.5 lbs.). The soft back pack is padded for comfort andincorporates a light rubber area to grip the cylinder with dual cylinder bands for stability.

The BCD is equipped with two large zippered accessory pockets for storage of your back-up light or small digital camera. Pockets supply more room then on other BCD's which can barely hold your dive gloves. The integrated Lock Aid quick-release weight system hold up to 20 lbs (9 kg), with 10 lbs (4.5 kg) in each pocket, and two additional rear non-releasable trim weight pockets that help increase stability in the water.

The waistband/cummerbund harness assembly is an independent suspension system that allows the cylinder and the diver to keep proper stability and avoid cylinder shifting on the back, while allowing the BCD's air cell to fully inflate away from the diver not causing restriction or crushing effect as with non-ergonomic designs. Adjustable sternum straps along with both torso adjustment straps are equipped with quick-release buckles.

BCD has three over-pressure relief/dump valves with two located on the left and right shoulders and a third lower valve on the rear right of the air cell. All three can be manually dumped two with pull cords and the other with the power inflator mechanism. The Travelight can be folded up in just a few seconds and fastened with a special retractable strap so that it can be stowed easily in its carry bag, which comes with a shoulder strap. TheTravelight's very light structure and its anatomical shape make it a very tight-fitting, hydrodynamic and streamlined when underwater.

Comments about Cressi Cressi Travelight BCD:

This is a terrific travel BCD. But ... do yourself a favor and shoot some digital pics when it arrives to illustrate the correct method of folding! It packs up very small but you need to know how. It's very comfortable but, for me (230lb. and 6'3", the XL is a good fit except the upper chest strap feels a bit high. Otherwise, all is good. Highly recommended for travel and warm water. For everyday use I'll stick with my much heavier Cressi "S" (full-size) BCD.

Comments about Cressi Cressi Travelight BCD:

I bought this BC as an update/ replacement for my Aqualight. I would agree with other reviewers that this BC tends to run large. I am 6'2" with a 44" chest and usually take an XL BC. The Large in the Travelight was easily large enough even with my 7mm suit.

I really liked the double tank straps on my Aqualight with a soft back and found it held any size tank from 80s to 120s quite well. Howver for the Travelight, Cressi uses a full tank strap and an secondary strap which is only useful for partial stabilization. I think this was a mistake. While it works fine with 80 aluminums thru 100 steels,it - at least for me - does not provide enough stablization for 120 steels.

I took the Travelight on its first dive trip to Socorro for 18 dives in 70 degree water with a 7 mm suit. With the exception of not handling 120 steels as well as my other BCs would it was great.

It is very light, easy to pack, has enough D-rings, pockets and lift for any diving I do from diving in rough seas with a 7mm (Socorro) to tropical diving. The weight system is excellent - easy to load and to release and holds the weights securely. Also unlike my Aqualight, I can load all the weight I need for any time of diving that I do.

If only the second tank strap was a full tank strap rather than the toy that is on there it would be perfect

Comments about Cressi Cressi Travelight BCD:

Bought to have a travel BCD that was lighter than my Vector Origin and had integrated weights. I dive with lots of Cressi gear and really like the company. The Travelite appears very well built and was very comfortable on the shoulders. Unfortunately, it weighed almost the same as the Vector, and packed up was just about the same size too! I returned it without ever diving in it because of the weight/size issue and bought a different travel BC that I am very happy with. One other con is that the Travelite does not have a neoprene collar, making it scratchy around the neck. For the price, I would think something as basic as that would be standard.

In short, if you want a good BCD, this will do it. But if you are looking for a really light weight packable BCD, I would not recommend the Travelight.

Comments about Cressi Cressi Travelight BCD:

This BCD is by far the most comfortable I have ever worn. Once under, I completely forgot about the gear and just enjoyed my dives. After having tried numerous rental BCDs and having issues with many (including a self-inflating BCD on a 30m wreck dive), I was blown away by the quality and ease of use of this BCD. The integrated weights attach very securely, and the trim weight pockets work well for stashing extra weights, while not hampering tank attachment at all. The difference in trim and attitude under water after previously using only weight belts was night and day for me (and no smashed toes!).

The pockets are surprisingly large and can fit a lot of extraneous gear if needed, and as previously mentioned, plenty of well placed D-rings for other gear.

I will second a previous comment in that this BCD runs a bit large, in that I'm 6' 195 lbs. and the large was a bit too loose fitting for me. I sent it back and ordered a medium and it fit like a glove.

This is the perfect BCD for travel as it is very light weight, and is surprisingly small when folded. It does lack some structure in that the straps do not stand up when attached to a tank, but after a couple tries, I was able to easily slide into the BCD on a crowded dive boat with no problems.

Highly recommended to anyone - I couldn't be happier with it!

Comments about Cressi Cressi Travelight BCD:

I initially bought a large; however, all adjustments were near the end of range when tightened. This was without a wetsuit. I am 5'11, 189 with 42" chest. I exchanged for medium which was much better fit. I dove with the BC for first time last week. I found it difficult to don when attached to a tank sitting on a boat. The soft backpack folds over considerably which makes it difficult to get arms through the shoulder straps even when doing it one at a time. Although fully extended, the shoulder straps seem short. Maybe, I should have kept the large. I had the most success by disconnecting one shoulder strap and holding it over that soulder while passing arm through the opposite still connected strap, then reconnecting the first strap.

Comments about Cressi Cressi Travelight BCD:

Very small when you fold it. Comes with a bag for the bcd. Extra strap built in bcd for folding it down and keeping it that way. Large pockets for extra equipment. Could fit my Sealife Dc1000 + Pelican 2410 LED light in one pocket with room to spare. D-rings made of light weight aluminium and plenty of them. Only negative thing I can say is that the trim pockets could be a little bit smaller. Maybe not so negative.

Comments about Cressi Cressi Travelight BCD:

If you're flying to warm water locations, this is the BC for you. Yes it is pricey and yes it is worth it.

Things I love:
1) Packs into an impossibly small size weighing only a little over 5 lbs!
2) The integrated weight system is secure and very easy to use.
3) Very large and easily accessible pockets with plenty of room for everything I may want to bring along.
4) Plenty of D rings in all the right places for recreational diving.
5) Trim pockets I never thought I needed but now love.
6) The secondary strap wouldn't hold the tank on if the primary failed but it adds a surprising stability when walking around on the boat.
7) Fabric is very light weight but very durable. BC shows little wear after 30 dives.

Only two very small critiques:

1) Has a little more inherent bouyancy than I would have expected. Had to compensate by adding two more lbs for shallow dives than I wore with my old BC.
2) The fabric holding the D right below the left pocket was received frayed. We had an upcoming dive trip or I'd have let my boyfriend (who bought this for me as a gift) return it immediately. He contacted LeisurePro and was immediately sent approval for the return, however, with frequent dives, I've refused to part with it long enough for the exchange/repair even though I have a back up BC.

Summary: This BC was purchased as a travel BC but it is a great functioning recreational BC PERIOD. I highly recommend it.
