Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Aquapro 5R Buoyancy Compensator:

I got this BCD and used it for my Rescue Diver cert. and it's the one I'll be using for upcoming Divemaster training. Good fit, nothing got in the way while doing unresponsive dive recoveries or in-water rescue breathing. It seemed very durable and was very adjustable. It was my first BCD purchase, so obviously all others that I've worn were rentals – thus I've got quite a comparison range. Maybe I'm biased because this one is "mine" but it certainly is one of my favs. that I've worn. I would certainly recommend this – especially for the price.

1st review after 2 dives - Purchased this as a replacement to my damaged Scubapro. I was very happy with the former and will always compare this with that. Today's use was on a wreck & a reef it performed good. I achieved the my perfect buoyancy in no time and had no other problems to share. I had no problems with my photography either. I'm happy with the purchase and would recommend this.... Will re-review after i use this for another 20 dives or so. May be (only a "may be") the lift in this less lesser than the Scubapro. That is negligible!!!

Awesome BCD for a great price. Used this BCD during my Open Water Training and decided to purchase it. Used this BCD while on vacation in the Carribean and in the cold waters of Gloucester, MA last November. Warm or cold water this BCD performs great. BCD also worked great during a deep dive to 100 feet.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Aquapro 5R Buoyancy Compensator:

I've used this BC on over 10 dives so far and love it! It is pretty sturdy and seems durable. I like the different design of the weight pockets from most BCs because if I was ever in a situation where I had to ditch weight I would not be loosing an expensive weight pocket as well. As a Scientific Diver it has plenty of D rings and pockets for me store all my equipment. The only thing I wish it had was a trim weight pocket, but I only notice the need for that when I'm kneeling in the sand.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Aquapro 5R Buoyancy Compensator:

I Wanted to really use this BC before formally assessing it. Just finished six boat dives including night dives, moderate depth dives, and some drift diving.Couldn't believe how adaptable the Cressi is. Plenty of room for hanging everything but can still keep things streamlined to protect the reef. I used a weight belt instead of the weight pockets because I want to reserve them for soft weight bags, not hard weights. No problem with having room for both the BC and the belt. Plenty of room in the air bags to compensate for changes in weight used in a dive.Hovering was a snap and the unit flowed air out in a hurry to allow for a quicker dive. The three dump valves allowed me to adjust bouyancy at nearly every angle which made it nice when we went under reef shelfs or through reef tubes. The only modification I had to make in the field was to zip-tie the keeper for the big inflator hose. This is the keeper that is used to keep the corrugated hose from kinking. I zip-tied the end by the dump valve but will probably end up zip-tying the other end that wraps around the hose too.I am very happy with this purchase [...] When you need it fast and you need it right...Use LeisurePro!!!

I have a Balance BCD which is not good for teaching in so i bought this 5R BCD because it is a jacket style, it gives you the option of weight belt or integrated as some integrated BCDs go over your weight belt.It is a good solid BCD well worth the money. if i had to say one bad thing it would be that you should wear a skin or wetsuit top under it as it can rub against your under-arms.

I have used this B.C. in fresh and ocean water. The only issue I have EVER had is that my weights were able to slip out of the weight pockets. Ruined my first ocean dive, but I learned to be aware of the possibility!

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Aquapro 5R Buoyancy Compensator:

I used this BC on 7 fresh water dives before sending it back. The first issue was that half of my weight fell out because of the way the weight pocket was designed and sent me plummeting to the surface. The last 2 times I used the BC the power inflator leaked air into the BC, some times fast, sometimes slow, again sending me to the surface. Luckily I was in shallower water during these events because all of these issues could have caused serious injury.

This is a top quality BCD. I bought it to replace one I have had for several years, and love it. I clocked up more than 2000 dives on the old one, and expect the same out of the new model. I like the extra D ring, and the bigger Weight pockets. Would be nice to have back Trim pockets for cold water (tonnes of neoprene) diving, but there are always work arounds. All in all another awesome product from Cressi.

You can lose a toe if you aren't careful with weight pockets. If you unsnap it and don't have a good hold on the weights they will drop out right on your foot. Needs pockets in the back also for weight distribution.Wish I had known I would have picked a different Style... Good price tho. All in all an OK BC ...\not the best not the worst.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Aquapro 5R Buoyancy Compensator:

I just got it and have not gone diving yet, but here are my initial thoughts...

Larger sizing than most I've used before. Weights are not really very "quick-release"

Seems less rugged than most.

All that said... if you can get the right fit, then you probably can't beat the price.

Comments about Cressi Cressi-Sub Aquapro 5R Buoyancy Compensator:

This is a well made lightweight comfortable, sturdy, weight integrated BCD that is cleverly designed. It has lots of pockets, D rings, and the weight pockets are secure and easy to change out weights. It will fit anyone, male or female, like a custom made Italian suit. My wife and I tried on alot of different BCD's from many manufacturers, and found that we each liked this model best. My wife is petite and uses a small, I use an extra large, yet with adjustmaent, this model fit us each best. And the price is a true bargain. In the water, this is easily the most streamlined BCD I have used, and it makes diving easier and more enjoyable. Highly Recommended.
