Comments about Bare Bare Blackwing BCD:

I've used the Bare Blackwing off the Jersey coast, A'Ahu and the Bahamas. I love this BC. I have found it to be very comfortabel to wear, with lots of heavy duty D-rings for clipping on whatever you would like. By adjusting hte amount of air at he surface and with a little lean find that the wing actually makes a nice pillow and doesn't try to face plant me. with a 2-peice 7mm off the jersey coast or dutch springs this BC has no problems holding up to 40-lbs of weight (30/10). The blackwing also has some nice handles for manuvering with the tank and weights before strapping it on. The only downnside is that the blackwing is a bit bulky for traveling. However, this has not been a problem for me as still fits in my bag and all my gear (minus reg set) comes in at less then 40-lbs.

Comments about Bare Bare Blackwing BCD:

overall very good product, if you fall foreward with a blackwing you are not weighted properly,it comes with tank ballast weight pockets to make weighting simple.. I have not had a problem.
it has lotsa d-rings and stoarge, very easy to adjust and very cozy to wear, the reason a 4 out of 5 is that i have a hard time to drain the excess water out of bc, not a big deal just the way the inflater hose is set up....

Comments about Bare Bare Blackwing BCD:

I´ve been looking for a new back inflated BC now for a while. I liked this BC when I saw it although there were no reviews for it. So I took my chances. After a few dives with it I can say that I´m not dissapointed. It´s great. My only concern is that its a little bulky, so if you´re planning on traveling with it, I would suggest giving it a little thought. Other than that it is a very good bc. I would say it is half way in between a recreational and a technical buoyancy compensator. I recommend it.

Comments about Bare Bare Blackwing BCD:

Good new BCD from BARE - very well made. Experienced small problem w/ inflator house connection leaking air bubbles so I bought a replacement hose at local dive shop. LP gave me a store credit for the amount no problem. VERY comfortable due to lots of padding, tons of D-rings - more than you need really. Zipper pockets not too hard to reach ot use. Only "complaint" might be that unit is somewhat bulky due to quick release weight pockets so might not be the best choice for someone who needs to pack gear for flying etc.
