Comments about Aqua Aqua 4.5 LBS Block Style Weight Mold:

The mold is perfect. Preheat the mold while melting the lead (use caution and ventilation of course). We sprayed a little cooking-oil-spray into the mold and began pouring. Once we began pouring we were able to go through 100 pounds of lead truck weights in 4 hours. The mold has reference lines for different size weights. We poured 1.5, 3, and 4.5 pound weights. It all went very fast.

After the "sheen" came comes off the lead (it solidified) we simply turned the mold over and the weight dropped-out If the weight wasn't perfect we remelted it. If the weight was stuck in the mold we remelted the lead in the mold and poured it back into the melt pan. This mold could make thousands of weights easily once you get into it...

Of course care and safety must be taken as everything is very hot. Welding gloves and fresh-air ventilation are a must.

Used one of these originally but it developed a crack through the handle and bottom of the mould. Had to discard it.

Comments about Aqua Aqua 4.5 LBS Block Style Weight Mold:

With a diving family of three kids & the wife this has been a real cost cutter. I used my fireplace gloves and an old pot holder and it worked perfectly! The trick is getting the mold hot first. They look lots better and feel smoother if you skim the impurities off the top while the lead is still liquid... I used a chisel the width of the channel and it worked great. I've been poring lead for black powder for more years than I care to admit, but, it is simple enough for just about anyone to do. Work outdoors if possible, you don't need to be inhaling the lead fumes! Make sure you don't do it in shorts & filp-flops cause that could ruin your day and keep you out of the water for a while. Use common sense, jeans and leather shoes or boots. I was able to make 26 weights in a couple of hours. The longest time spent, once the mold was hot, was waiting for the lead to solidify. [...]

Comments about Aqua Aqua 4.5 LBS Block Style Weight Mold:

This item is easy to use if you have any experience in pouring lead. Be sure to use proper safety equipment and techniques. If you have no experience please just spend the extra money and buy the lead already casted. The mould is rough, but it is very easy to release the lead and works well. The weights do not have to be beautiful to be effective. If you are like me and lose a lot of weight with students then this is definitely a cheaper alternative to purchasing weight.

Comments about Aqua Aqua 4.5 LBS Block Style Weight Mold:

BEST THING ABOUT IT, IS YOUR SAVING, I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I HAD HAVE TO RELEASE MY WEIGHT BELT AND LET IT GO, THE BELT IS SHEAPER BUT THE WEIGHTS YOU HAVE TO PAY BY THE POUNDS. GOOD TO HAVE ON THE GARAGE SHOOP.
