Key West - A Diving Adventure

Ernest Hemingway lived, fished and wrote on this island he called home. Join Dive Travel, a Video Adventure Series, for its first produced program, which includes an introduction on the front lawn of the famous Hemingway house in Key West. Then, come along with us as we dive the Atlantic Reef, America's only living coral reef. This 150 mile system parallels the keys 4-5 miles offshore from Biscayne Bay to the Marquesas. We also take you to two of the Key West's popular wrecks the Cayman Salvage Master and Joes Tug. But before we dive we take you on a mystical tour of party town in Key West style where you will observe the landmark southernmost point in the continental United States. Key West is the home to Key lime pie, a naval base, exotic foliage and natural coconut trees, almost 30,000 year round residents and its free roaming chickens. We hope you enjoy Key West, Florida.

BEAUTIFUL COZUMEL-The Drift Diving Capital of the World

Cozumel is known for its rich Mayan heritage found through-out the island, but it is also famous to divers who come here from all over the globe, being the drift diving capital of the world. The island's dive Tours can accommodate as many as 1100 divers a day who go down under to check out the magical reefs in some of the warmest and clearest tropical water in the world. In this program in the Dive Travel Video Adventure Series, we take you on a tour of the Caribbean island , giving you a peek topside of the island's attractions (including San Miguel, the island's only town) as well as a typical week of diving on the ever popular reefs that surround Cozumel. See the spectacular and colorful coral reefs as they unfold before your eyes as well as the marine life only native here.

The Caves, Caverns, & Wreck of Cozumel

In this program, we take you on an underwater, narrated excursion down to 132 feet through the famous caves and caverns located on the southern end of Cozumel Island. The Caribbean waters are crystal clear along the Grand Mayan Reef, the second longest barrier reef in the world. First, tour the topside attractions which draw as many as a dozen cruise ships at any one time to the famous Mexican port rated the 5th most popular island in all the world. Then, we take you down dark and deep through the infamous Devil's Throat and other caves and caverns of Cozumel. We also tour through the island's only wreck known as the C53.

Dive Travel DVD Adventure Series
By TonyVerified Purchaser from South Shore of Massachusetts on 2/19/2008
Pros:
Interesting, Somewhat Relevant
Cons:
Limited Appeal
Describe Yourself:
Casual Viewer
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Much of the film was taped after a storm so the visability was somewhat poor. For a mass-distribution DVD, this should have been filmed during better visibility. The on-shore discriptions were limited.

Excellent overview of dive location
By nauticusVerified Purchaser from Huntsville, AL on 2/19/2008
Pros:
Broad Appeal, Entertaining, Informative
Cons:
very broad
Best Uses:
overview of dive location, Perfect Gift, Travel
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

These are excellent DVDs apparently recorded for TV broadcast. They give viewer a good overview of the dive location. However it is a very broad overview. This is not a dive guide and lacks dive guide type detail. They are very entertaining and give good underwater views of some of the major dive sites at the dive location

You shouldn't leave for any of this DVD's destinations without watching its DVD

I only watched the Galapagos and Costa Rica, very good narrated, and beautifully shot. I would also recommend it for educational purpose, I borrowed it to my niece (she had to write up something on the Charles Darwin) and she loved it
