Comments about XS Scuba XS Scuba Miflex BC Quick Disconnect Hose, Black:
Miflex hoses are great. They are lighter, more flexible and more durable than rubber hoses. Yes, they are more expensive, but they will outlast rubber, will save some weight for travelling, and most importantly, they will allow streamlined hose routing that's not possible with rubber. Does that mean you should go out and replace all of your hoses? Of course not, but as I buy new hoses, I now only buy miflex. For the overall cost of your dive gear, an extra $20 for a hose, which is a pretty critical piece of your equipment, is merely a drop in the bucket, and you can't go wrong with these.

Replacing standard hoses with Miflex hoses makes your regulator lighter and more flexible (in terms of curling it up into tighter spaces), but after that the upside is limited. Their flexibility means you can get away with a shorter hose than a traditional rubber hose, but to be honest, if you do not travel a lot, I am not sure that the combined upsides are worth the additional cost.
One other minor plus side: you don't need hose protectors, because the braiding does not fatigue the way that traditional rubber hoses do.
