The way it connects was a poor design by Oceanic, the connection will pop out unless stabilized by something. Once it is connected it does function as it is supposed to.

Cable connects well with the VEO180 but it will not interface with my ProPlus 2. It continually times out even though I hold it in place. Very very disappointed. Very very bad design.

I wanted the PC interface to use as a review tool for dives and it does that well. Setup requires several steps and is not very intuitive. Once it is set up and you understand how to use it, it works as advertised. Recommending with reservations.

The software from oceanic is the real talent. This cable is useful to transfer the data, but it falls out of the Dive computer very easily. If you do not hold it in place during data transfer, you might loose or corrupt the data.

This cable works. It took a lot of fussing to make it get 'online' with my computer. I had to wiggle the cable at the Veo 250 a lot to get contacts active. The user interface with the software you download is not intuitive at all. Eventually, if you have patience, you can get a download. Be careful, the application does not save it unless you specifically issue a command.
I would recommend because there is no other way to get info off the Veo.

The connection to the Pro Plus 2 doesn't stay in well. It's not the cable's fault, but the fact that there is nothing holding it in the Pro Plus 2.

On the positive side this USB connector allows you to download dive data from your dive computer to your PC or laptop. The negative is that the connector is awkward to connect to the dive computer. Since the connector at the dive computer end is proprietary, you have no choice but to pay a boat load of money if you want to download your dive data to your PC or laptop. The data is very helpful in analyzing your dives. Oceanic's software is good but not great. I have found better online.

A great price for a product that makes your Oceanic computer all the more functional. Came in handy also since I can't seem to find my log book anymore!

The only reason I bought this cable, is there is not a competitive product available. The cable and plug are poorly designed, and if you don't hold your tongue right, it disconnects. Good thing you don't have to use it very often.

This is the only connection available for downloading dive information from the OceanPro dive computer series that it is marketing for and a PC or laptop. The software is awesome for recordkeeping, analysis and comparing dives. This USB connection is difficult to figure out and use as there are no instructions as to how it connects to the dive computer. I did it by trial and error as there are three possibilities to get the connection end to contact the three prongs. The right way to to have the label up while looking at the top of the dive computer. It does not stay connected, so best to hold it with one hand and type with the other.

The software took two tries, but ultimately got all 22 dives that I had done with this computer this Summer into the laptop.

The only problem I had in the beginning was that I did not straighten out the cable sufficiently and it would occasionally pop out of the dive computer slot while syncing. It is a great tool for training new divers to review their dive profiles and for experienced divers to visualize what some of their dives actually look like. Be more aware, increase safety in vertical changes during the dive, not just the end of a dive.

I admit to being a bit of a tech hound, but even with a minimal setup like I have for diving, a computer is only half useful if you can't get the data out of it for not only your dive log, but for your own education and enjoyment.This cable worked perfectly. There is online software support (I got the latest version)The price is steep [...] but typical.A real must-have.

the connection to op2 is tenuous. Once it does though, the info downloaded is very usefull. be patient it is worth the effort.

Love the computer but the connection to the cord is so bad you have to hold it in place. Also get the one that has the cd ,if you are not good at downloading drives.

The PC Cable doesn't stay connected to the Dive Computer very well; it is a balancing act to keep your PC and DC connected during the download. Also I'm not impressed with the Oceanic dive log software but I have nothing to compare it against. It does provide interesting / valuable information though.

Overall you really don't have a choice of another cable. If you have the Oceanic Dive computer the cable will do its job, I just feel that the could have done a better job designing it.

Unfortunately the software is not the big deal, but the cable is the only way to download data from you DC to your PC. It’s good for getting rid of that paper logbook and analyzing your improvements in diving.

I bought the related computer first (bought a demo model without the cable) because it had big characters in the display and that's good for someone who uses reading glasses. I got the cable to be able to do the download thing. The computer and cable together fit together clumsily and loosely -- even precariously. Once hooked up, though, it downloads just fine. But it's way too expensive for a simple USB cable.

I have spent alot of time trying to use this product. The connection to the computer is very difficult to maintain with holding the connector in place. If your computer uses Vista forget it. I have contacted the manufacturer about my problems and have been unable to make this operational and gave up. The concept of downloading dives from my Oceanic computer is a great idea but this PC cable takes way too much time and effort. It is too bad because the computer is outstanding.

I would recommend this if you want to be able to transfer data from you dive computer to your home computer. The data that is transfered is very helpful. This is a proprietary cable so you are stuck with buying it if you want to make the data transfer. [$]The connection between the cable and the dive computer is weak. This was poorly designed. The process for synchronizing should also be simplified.

cable works great. instructions for how to connect the cable to the dive computer were very poor. Have someone at a dive shop show you how the cable connection works.

Follow the instructions carefully. I found I had to hand hold the cable where it connects to my Datamax Pro Plus II. If I did not hold it, the cable would disconnect. The Oceanlog software is not the most user friendly either, kind of clumsy.

The cable to operate computer soft ware is an obvious must have. It has functioned well. When I initially started using it I found it a little confusing to begin correct down load sequence. Better operating instructions would be a plus.

Not reliable when connecting to the VEO180Nx Computer. Several attempts are common, and if more than a single dive is logged, the download will frequently fail.

The Oceanic Proplus 2 is a great computer but the cable does fit well into the connector and the software is poor.

I love the fact that all I have to do now is plug in my computer to my laptop and whamo, I have a full up to date dive log.

The only draw back was getting the computer to sync properly the first time. Once that was done, it's a breeze now.

I would recommend that anyone that has a dive computer capable of syncing with a computer get the software and hardware to do just that. this really helps with getting all of your dives properly logged and in your own time frame. THe only downside to this is that pretty much all of the software out there does not print out a page that looks like a PADI dive log. I hope that sometime in the future this wil be addressed and then the pages could just be printed out and put directly into the log.

Why bother buying a sophistocated dive computer that has the capability to do much more with the aid of a computer and not spend a few extra dollars for the cable that gives you that functionality ?! You can't have one without the other.

Cable does what it needs to if you connect it carefully and don't move the cable, at all! Cable does not stay in Data Plus well.
