Having a spare as a technical diver is routine. This 12-pack of Retractor Bands can get you out of a jam if you find a problem with the ones attached to your BCD. The bands are an important component of your buoyancy Control Devise.
ELIMINATION OF AIR SHIFT: The OMS elastomeric bands evenly compress the BC, eliminating the massive air shift associated with non-banded BCs that typically occur when changing body plane.
LOW DRAG / LOW SNAG: The OMS bands typically retract the BC to a width less than the diver's shoulders, greatly reducing Drag and Snag potential.
TRIM ADJUSTABILITY: By adding or eliminating bands in different parts of the BC, the diver can adjust: a) lateral trim to compensatefor stage bottles, cameras, etc. b) Horizontal trim, e.g. head up, down or level.

I bought the Retraction bands and the tool set to repair a leaky port on my OMS BC. The inflator hose had pulled out during a dive.
