The Thigh Pocket is part of Dive Rite's new line of harness accessory pockets that builds upon technology from the backpacking industry. Each pocket includes daisy chain webbing on the external pocket for clipping Z-knives, trauma shears or any tool that you need in easy reach. Dive Rite's new Thigh Pocket includes an innovative leg band made of a proprietary material used in bandages. The material holds up to salt water and dries quickly, plus silicone strips placed on the inside of the band grip your exposure suit and keep the leg band in place. At 4-inches in width (10 cm), the new leg band will be comfortable and secure. The 1000 denier ballistic nylon pocket that is tear and abrasion resistant is attached via a buckle on the waist belt, allowing a diver to don or doff the thigh pocket without having to unbuckle the waist belt and slide the pocket off. There is a two inch (50 mm) nylon webbing loop allowing threading to a standard two inch (50 mm) webbing belt and corrosion resistant nickel plated brass drainage grommets that allow rapid release of trapped water.

You have probably seen daisy chain technology on hiking and mountaineering backpacks. Daisy chains are webbing loops sewn to form a chain. On backpacks, they allow you to attach carabineers for accessories. Dive Rite has taken that concept one step further by developing unique sheaths for our cutting devices that will clip into the daisy loops.

But that's not all. Inside the pockets resides a 36-inch (92 cm), looped lanyardto clip off reels, line markers and pocket lights. No more fumbling for the right tools, just pull out the lanyard, select the tool you need, and stuff the loaded lanyard back in the pocket. If you find the lanyard too long, simply cut and shorten the cord, re-tie the simple knot and cut off the excess. Heavy-duty Velcro secures the pocket flap and resists sagging and stretching. We've seen a few divers out there sporting their own homemade version. Now the rest of us canenjoy the same great idea.

Comments about Dive Rite Dive-Rite Thigh Pocket #AC3201:

This provides a great alternative to having pockets glued to your wetsuit or drysuit. It is a definite option for those using a backplate and wing setup where there are no pockets available. It is also good for those using a BC as this pocket is far more readily accessible than most BC pockets.

It is ideal for storing SMBs, reels, spare mask etc. The quality seems very good and I would expect it will be quite durable. It is comfortable and barely noticed whilst in the water.
