Comments about Dive Rite Dive-Rite Octopus Holder # 2086:

Clips no problem to my Aeris BC D-rings. Holds my octo fine and it pulls free with little effort - just like it should. I have only used it for 8 dives (both salt and fresh water) but it shows none of the previously mentioned issues.

The only issue (and why I went 4 vs. 5 stars) is that in the water, with 5mm gloves on, I find it nearly impossible to get the octo BACK IN after it's been pulled out.

Comments about Dive Rite Dive-Rite Octopus Holder # 2086:

I've had a number of Octo Holders, all different design varieties - velcro, hose clips, and even used large rubber bands in a pinch - but this one I like the best.
This holder is just simple in design, does exactly what it's supposed to, and is very durable.

Comments about Dive Rite Dive-Rite Octopus Holder # 2086:

As was already mentioned opening of the clip is just too small for D-rings. Spring in the clip stopped working after 5 dives the most. Elastic has pooped out of cord, so it only held by outside fibers. Occy pops out.
Over all I'm not happy with those.

Comments about Dive Rite Dive-Rite Octopus Holder # 2086:

The opening on the hook is too small for the D-Rings on my Black Diamond BC. If it would open wider, this would be a great product. However, fighting to get my octo to my mouth is not something I want to encounter if I actually NEED my octo.

Good octo holder. Bought one a while back for my gear. Bought all new gear and bought 2 more, one to hold my octo on my new gear and one to put around the compass on my Areis Atmos AI to hold it to my retractor. The clip will break as it is made from plastic and has a spring in it. The one I bought a year ago already broke so I superglued it shut on my spare BC to hold an octo (you really should never have to remove it anyway) and works fine.

This little trinket might make a good leash for your parakeet, but it's completely useless as a Octo holder. Octopus wont stay in and once it comes out its difficult to put back in underwater. Poor quality - Bungie cord broke after 30 minutes of diving the first time I used it. Buy something else!
