This unique signaling tube is packaged in a trim holster and attaches easily to jacket style BCD's on the right rear BCD overpressure relief valve. Also available for some Back Mounted BCD's, it is diver activated by pulling on the Release Cord which deploys the SMART tube from the holster. Air flows from the BCD into the SMART tube inflating it firmly to it's full 5' length, the SMART tube is now inflated and divers hands are free for other purposes., Check valve keeps air in the SMART Tube even when diver releases air from the BC (to deflate SMART tube after the dive simply hold Release Cord firmly in the "open" position while rolling up SMART tube).

SMART Tube is available in 5 different Models to fit following Manufacturers BCD's:

SP1001 Aeris, Oceanic, Dive Rite.

SP1003 Aqualung, Seaquest (fits both Jacket style and back mount style).

SP1005 Mares (old and new style BCD's)

SP1007 Scubapro

SP1009 Zeagle

Not Suitable for Sherwood/Genesis BCD'S

Comments about Aqua Innovative S.M.A.R.T BCD Integrated Safety Signal Tube:

Despite manufacturer specific models [e.g. ScubaPro] no list of BCDs that are compatible with device. Attachment is generic [universal straps with snaps] and non-compatible with many common older style BCs.
Vinyl backing plate is too large, squarish, stiff and clunky, not form fitting. Potential risk of detaching from BC in an entanglement situation due to attachment method. Hands free concept is great, but not worth the inherent risks arising from faulty design.
Instructions for attachment are amateurish.
Per those instructions, I took mine to a dive center for attachment; the tech guy tried to attach but found incompatible components, recommended I send it back. I played with it myself, found the rubber attachment orifice inside was the wrong size. There was no way to attach the universal straps, which appeared to be more suitable for tank attachment.
No website information either on suitable BCs by manufacturers supposedly supported, but there was a note that, yep, it might not fit my [unspecified] BC.
Forget this item unless you know for certain it will fit your particular BC, regardless of manufacturer. Not worth the hassle, and a real potential hazard in some diving situations.
