The solution give Reef Net's new "H2YO" a shake to emit a loud and distinctive rattle that can be heard at great distances underwater. To make sure you sound unique, H2YO is offered with two sounds:

I have the rattle and my husband has the clank. Both work fine-- it's just a matter of personal preference. It's especially nice that they do not make annoying noise as you move while in the water. I agree with the review about not being able to hear the noise produced when wearing heavy gloves and hood in cold water. My husband could not hear me even though he could see me shaking the noisemaker. We both had on 7mil gear, including hoods and gloves. But, in warm water, no problem-- just shake it HARD.

I love this noisemaker. Now when I see something or need to get attention of divers around you it is easy. My dive buddy is now going to buy one also. You can hear this very clearly from about 45ft away from your dive buddy. If you cant hear it then you are deaf..............

Great attention getter. All the other noise makers I have tried have not compared. The rattle has a loud metallic clank that carries well underwater. The others I have tried were either of plastic or thin metal that made a higher pitched sound that did not carry as well or gets divers attention as well.

The Noisemaker provided the signalling I expected it would, and the sound was according to the sample given. It was good that mine had a sound that differed from my dive buddy.
On our deep dives, the dive master asked us to leave our noise makers on the boat. He said they scare away the big critters we had come to see.

OK with no gloves & thin hood. Heavy gloves dampen the sound generated, and 7mil hoods block the rest of the sound from hitting your ears.
But worked great in Maui this week.

It is so small yet very effective. Before I've bought the product I had to log to my logbook that I'd seen this fish and that but could not show it to anyone because I could not attract their attention. I saw a bigger model from a dive buddy but it was bulky. H2YO is very small so that I've even use it when I go to skin diving. But since it is to small I've lost one. Now I'm using it with a male clip so it is always attached somewhere. The range is very good too. I'm using the clang type.

I have been using one for over two years.
Pros: best feature to me is that you can modulate how loud and how long to use it, when your buddy hears it you stop, you don't have to rattle it loud enough for everybody to hear unlike the duck.
uses no air and allows the inflator hose to fit in its clips the way it should which cannot be done with the duck between the inflator hose and its connection
it helps at a glance to tell your BC's apart since mine and my son's are the same model
I have it attached by the split ring it came with (never any rust) to my right shoulder D ring and it helps me find the dump valve easier
I like the way it clanks one time when I do a back flip
no maintenance and should last forever
Con: a little pricey, but well worth it.

The price was right. This little item beats the heck out of tank bangers and is able to be attached anywhere on your gear making it extremely easy to use.

My wife loves this product, she can signal me easily when she spots something interesting. HAVE NOT FOUND ANYONE ELSE USING THIS ONE ON OUR TRIPS. After all a noise maker that everyone else has is generally a waste.

I actually purchased this item in this store and have had it for one year so far. It is an excellent item made of solid metal. The noise may not be distinct as noted in the earlier review, but will do the job if your partner knows what to hear for.
Overall good tool.

This is a must-have for capturing the attention of your dive buddy. It's small and makes quite a bit of noise. I have tried a couple of other noise makers, including banging on my tank and I have not found a solution that works as well.
It seems a little spendy for a little rattle but it is really worth it.
The only real down side is that rattles are fairly popular so you don't really sound distinct from the other divers in the group.
