this style shockcord is handy and makes gun easier to load. Around rocks where distances aren't so critical, they probably would be great.
I used to use similar coil cord on a Pneumatic gun in open water in Gulf of Mexico. Here, I found it robbed the spear of speed and penetration at distance. I no longer use a coil line to hunt.

Makes reloading quick - but it can tangle like a phone cord, but much better than the old line method.

I got hung with a standard cord while a cobia was swiming around in circles. I bought this and have shot lots of fish with it. It will pull back, reverse coil on you, and shorten shots but the saftey of not being tangled with a standard line and the quick reloads without having to fittle around with standard line, it is worth. Works great on flounder, sheephead, cobia, black drum, amberjack, and spadefish. After the dive, if the line has back coiled, I fix it once on the surface and enjoy lots of uninterrupted shots on the bottom. Get the longest line available.

This is definately not to be used as a shockcord. It might stretch to the length the description says it does if you are using it on a bazooka. I bought a 20' one for my 32 inch speargun and its max effective range with this is around 8-10 feet. I now use it as a lanyard from my weightbelt to my speargun and it works great.

I use it on a small JBL gun and it works fine. It is losing its shape a bit, but I have used it quite a few times. It makes reloading much quicker.

I used this with my JBL explorer 24" gun. I worked OK for close range shots, since I didn't want to invest in a reel. Downside was that even thought it will stretch to it's full range, it diminished the effective range of the shot.

If you would like to decrease your killing range by half this is the product! Also when fish will tingle it up it will take you some time to figure out which way to turn to get it open!!!
I purchased two lengths and they bouth are useless for me.
