Doc's Proplugs Combo Packs are designed to fit a range of sizes. Each combo pack contains four (4) pairs of Proplugs (one for each size of the set):

Adult (18 years & up) - Includes one pair of each of the following sizes: small, medium, large, and extra large.
Youth (6-17 years) - Includes one pair of each of the following sizes: medium small, small, medium, and large.

Doc's Proplugs can prevent swimmers ear, and ear pain by blocking water from entering the ears, keeping ears warm and preventing the flushing of water in and out of the ear. Ear pain and infection are caused by cold exposure and erosion of delicate skin and wax in the ear canal.

Upon descent, Proplugs prevent water from entering the ear down to 20 feet in depth. Once the diver enters greater depths, water will be allowed into the ear for equalization. Unlike other earplugs, ours includes a Scott's valve which allows ears to equalize easily and let sound in. Our proplugs have been used by hundreds of divers for over thirty years who testify that proplugs are the earplugs for divers.

Equalization with Doc's Proplugs: Doc's Proplugs have also been used by divers who have trouble equalizing. Unlike other earplugs which are solid and would not be recommended for diving, Proplugs are vented to allow equalization. While the small vent allows equalization to occur it does not allow debris to enter and it prevents earwax from washing out which exposes delicate ear tissue. The Proplugs keep ears warm by storing the head's conductive heat; the warmth provided by the plugs drastically reduces the risk of thermal shock. Due to surface tension the vented plug also reduces abrupt pressure changes from reaching the sensitive eardrum which contributes to easier equalization. Clear ears often to allow air to escape through the Proplugs vent and allow for better equalization. Proplug wearers who have trouble clearing their ears should check to make sure a lump of ear wax is not blocking the canal or butting up against the vent. If the vent is fouled by debris while descending it is best to remove the Proplug. If fouled while ascending, there is no problem because the air and water under pressure can escape around the Proplug. Hundreds of divers have attested to the benefits of Proplugs for relieving pressure in their ear during descent.

Comments about Aqua Doc's Proplugs Vented Combo Pack:

This probably will have a pair that will work for most adults. It did help some with my equalization difficulties, though I can't say it totally relieved them. I would buy them again, and I will continue to use them in the future. A drawback is that it will muffle your hearing a bit...underwater that may not be a huge issue unless you like to bang on tanks to communicate. They won't be a perfect custom fit, so you may tire of having them in if you making long shallow dives in sequence.

Comments about Aqua Doc's Proplugs Vented Combo Pack:

I bought the vented plugs as a backup to my Pro Ear 2000 Mask after being diagnosed with a perforated ear drum prior to a trip to Turks & Caicos. I had used the mask in the past and knew it worked as long at my hair was very short and the mask ear cups were seated properly. I didn't want to take a chance though so I got the vented plugs as a precaution. Glad I did. The mask didn't leak through 8 dives but the plugs added confidence that if it did I was safe. My ears easily equalized on dives to 100 ft. I also used the plugs for swimming in the ocean with my family and the inner ear stayed dry the entire time. They fit snugly and can be worn with confidence. Make sure you fit them properly though and get then vented plugs, they are worth it! For divers or snorkelers with ear issues, get Doc's Vented Proplugs and the Pro Ear 2000 Mask. Well worth the price. Only downside, when worn for extended lengths of time my ears hurt slightly but felt fine after removing.

So far, so good.

Pros:
Easy To Use, Improves Diving Experience

Comments about Aqua Doc's Proplugs Vented Combo Pack:

Only used for one day of diving (2 dives) but so far I'm really happy with these. I often have trouble equalizing my right ear, but with these the equalization process seemed much more gradual and easy than usual for me. I'll definitely use them again.

My only use so far was in cold water with a hood. They stayed in position just fine. I'm curious to see if they will stay put ok with out the hood, but I'm optimistic as they seem to have a pretty snug fit.
