While the Bio-Seal was originally designed for use for neoprene seals, it will also make a latex type seal more comfortable and less restrictive. This product does contain oils which can cause early wear in latex type seals. Cleaning the neck seal of your suit thoroughly after each use can help delay this effect. Every drysuit dive, I would come back with latex burns and it became very uncomfortable both during and after the dive, not to mention the scarring that has taken place.
First use, not a single mark, my neck was in like new condition........ I will use it every dive.

I originally purchased the large size based on my neck size. It was much too large and did nothing at all to stop the seepage I was experiencing. I then ordered the medium size - it fit far better - but was no more functionally effective. I know people have had good experiences with this item - but for a latex seal it did absolutely zero for me. I hear that it can really help with a neoprene seal.

Adding the Apollo Bio-Seal was the perfect solution to a slightly leaky neoprene neck seal....now I can turn my head in every which way without having leak issues!

The neck of my dry suit had started too leak when I moved my neck.(Latec neck). I was going to have it changed but friend of mine suggested to try this porduct first. This product completely solved this leaking problem + now my neck is also warm.

The latex neck seal on my dry suit would make my neck very red and sore. Bio-Seal works great but will wear your neck seal faster.

Kind of like a ring of snot around your neck, but it does make things water tight and is very un-restrictive. As everybody warns you (including the package insert) you need to wash your seals with soap after each use as the bioseal contains oil and it could hasten the demise of your latex seals. However, my opinion is that sunshine and oxygen prob. do more damage than the bioseal

be sure it is 'lower' on your neck, rather than 'higher' so that your neck seal has a large contact area with the bioseal

I purchased the BioSeal as a means of dealing with chronic chaffing caused by my drysuit neck seal. The BioSeal worked perfectly to prevent this condition, however because it is an oil-based product it degraded my latex neck seal and greatly shortened the life of the seal. Despite carefully washing the neck seal with gentle detergent to remove the oils after each dive, the seal thinned, eventually tore and needed replacement. I'd say using the BioSeal shortened the life of my latex neck seal by at least 50%. It's really a choice between comfort v over-all expense. I would recommend this to a friend with the appropriate caveate.

I've had mine for the past 6 years and it continues to be my favorite piece of dive equipment. It's super comfortable and I can move neck in all directions without having a stream of cold water down my neck. Also really prevents the neck chaffing.

This fab product saves my poor neck from extreme irritation and pain from latex dry suit neck seals, especially in the sea. Also when teaching and keeping an eye on students, and all that constant craning and looking around.
