Watch digitally displays time. It can be set in a 12/24 hour format, has five daily alarms, countdown (Yacht) timer with measuring units of one second, and a countdown range of one minute to 60 minutes along with a countdown alarm, progress beeper functions. 1/100 second stopwatch with measuring modes of elapsed time, split time, and 1st and 2nd place times. The stopwatch measuring capacity is 23:59'59.99". Auto calendar which is pre-programmed until the year 2099, button operated tone on/off, watch is accurate +/- 20 seconds per month with no signal calibration, uses a CTL1616 storage battery, and has a battery power indicator and power saver function with an approximate battery life of 5 months on a full charge without further exposure to light.
This atomic timekeeper function receives time calibration radio signals automatically up to six times a day which keep the displayed time accurate, alsohas a manual receiver function; the signal received for the US is WWVB at a frequency of 60 kHz, UK is MSF at 60 kHz, Germany DCF77 at 77.5 kHz, and Japan JJ40/JJY60. Watch gives world time with 29 time zones (30 cities), displaying city code and a daylight saving on/off function. In addition the watch is water resistant to 660' (200 meters), is low temperature resistant to 14°F (-10°C), and has automatic electro-luminescent backlight illuminating the watch for low light conditions.
The altimeter function measures altitudes from -2,300 to 32,800 ft (-700 to 10,000 meters) in measuring units of 20' (5 meters). Altimeter has an auto memory function with up to 20 logged sets of altitude memory including altitude,month, date and time. The altimeter has a max-altitude memory, relative altitudedisplay and altitude tendency and differential graph and graphic.
If you are planning to go boating, fishing or Scuba diving you will appreciate the tide graph which is based on a combination of preset and user input data giving you vital information on the best time to launch the boat, drop your hookinto the water, or jump into the water. With the moon data that allows you to know the moon's age based on current data and user input data by showing a moon phase graph, will tell you when the moon is right for night diving or fishing, or maybe even a romantic moon light cruise!
The Pathfinder also has a built in barometer and thermometer. The barometer has a measuring range of 7.65 inches of mercury (Hg) to 32.45 Hg (260 hectopascals [hPa] to 1,100 hPa), has measuring units of 0.05 inches of mercury (1 hectopascals), with a tendency and differential graph and graphic display of atmospheric pressure. The thermometer has a measuring range of 14 to 140 degreesF (-10 to 60 C) in measuring units of 0.2 F (0.1 C).
You can't get lost when you have your Pathfinder on your wrist with its built incompass. How many times have you been told by someone to go north on Elm then head west on Oak etc, without a compass many of us can get lost. The product has a slew of features, which allows you to get what you want from a watch when ever you need it. Features, such as auto back light with a twist of the wrist, easy city time zone switching, a good timer, and an easy to read display, make this watch adaptable to any situation and/or environment.

I went for this watch after looking at every watch there is. The functions of this watch are very, very cool and as accurat as expected.
The fact that it calibrates with atomic clocks makes it all even cooler. I live on the edge of the 1500 km range zone,but still I get full signal strenght. The watch is not very diskreet, but thats not what you are looking for if you want to buy a watch like this.
So far I found one thing that annoys me: The backlight only turns on for 1 second, which is more than enough to read the time but using features such as the compass is hopeless in the dark. When that is said , the auto-light which turns on automaticly when the watch is angled towards your face is suprisingly good and you don't know how much you need it before you have tried it.

Just received my casio paw1500/resin band and am very impressed. I have the previous 1300 resin and titanium band models also. This is slightly bigger, more robust - definitley more flashy. Can't say how it compares to the 1200 as I've never had one. I did not receive compliments on the 1300, but already had compliments on this. Moon and tides are great addition so know when it's safe to approach my wife. You can easily find high tides and moon cycles days or weeks in advance. She likes to bring kids to beach at high tide and is always asking me exact HT times. For some reason she thinks I know when hight tide is. Can finally look at date, day, time and seconds on watch face at same time. And date is big enough for me to read without glasses (unlike the 1300). Waterproof to 200 meters so I'll probably take it scubadiving. Upgrade was definitely worth it for me, as this timepiece not only adds to all 1300 features: altimiter, bar pressure, compass, atomic time, waterproof, backlight, powersaver, solar, but is a show stopper in the process. Well made, rugged, intuitive to operate. Only thing does't have is sunrise and sunset, but I guess you reach a point where just tooooo many features and people space out - Highly recommend this timepiece.
