Overall the watch is a great tool, but takes some practice to figure out how to use it, especially the barometers' relationship top the altimeter. I thought mine was busted because the altitude readings would change from hour to hour in the same place.
Since the altimeter is based on a given pressure for the area you're in, you must be able to do a little math to figure an actual altitude based on the barometric changes.
Lets' say the average daily pressure for your area is 1020. Your watch needs to be set to the actual altitude for your area based on "that" pressure measurement.
When the barometric pressure changes you will see a change in the altitude as well. For example; if the pressure reading is 1010, there is a drop-difference of 10 hPa, and you will need multiply that number by 30.
So...10 x 30= 300.
Then subtract 300 from whatever altitude reading you get. And that should be your actual altitude. An easier way is to; multiply the difference in pressure 10 X 3 X 10, and you get the same number. Since the watch only reads in 20' intervals you can be within 20-30 feet or so.
If the pressure is higher than normal you will need to add the number instead of subtract it.
The manual said nothing about this but I tried different formulas and got lucky.
This is the easiest way to effectively use your watch without having to recalibrate it everyday.

Very thin design, looks and feels like a regular watch, not a computer on your wrist. Altimeter and barometer are great. The temperature sensor of course reads your body temp, but if you take it off and use it, the temp is also accurate.

Since I'm a pilot, the weather is something that is very important to me, i always need to know what the weather is upto before a flight and during a flight.. this is where i find this watch most useful... the pressure graph allows me to see when bad weather is coming in, indicated by a drop in pressure.. since it's a trend, you get to forecast whether the weather is deteriorating or not...since i also need to know what the pressure alitude is, this watch gives me a direct indication of just that.. the compass is quite accurate also, even in the aircraft.. the only thing which is never quite accurate is the temperature readout due to your own body heat.. the watch picks up the atomic signal every nite, without any problem at all..just the watch what i was looking for... if at all Casio could change something, it could probably allow the Light to be enabled for all functions of this great watch.. right now, it only comes on in the Time mode, not on any of the other modes, which in the end is quite bearable, as the rest of the watch is just great... a really good buy...

When you spend a lot of time traveling in third world countries and you have to try to blend in. It's nice to have a small and discreet high tech tool as the Pathfinder at hand (no pun intended.)

1. Compass is only works for 20 secs. Then needs to be restarted (nowhere listed on the website description)
2. Compass does not have regular arrows so some time it is hard to tell immediately where to point
3. Altimeter - not accurate - it was showing one day 165m in my hose and the next day 225m. Is my house changing altitudes?
4. Thermometer is not accurate also. Body temperature affects results all the time.
I have to return this product due to complete dissatisfactions with the performance.

I travel a lot - jungles, mountains, islands, etc. I need a watch that will tell me time any place in the world, altitude in the mountains, and I don’t have to take it of when I scuba-dive. I found it - Casio PAW1300A-3V - and love it. -[@]

Smaller/thinner than the other new solar pathfinders(1200), thinner than the average g-shock. Very durable and practical. Great for world travel!
