Comments about Casio Casio PAW1200-8V Pathfinder Atomic Solar Triple Sensor:

I use this watch everyday and never take it off(including in the shower). Moving in a fast paced environment with lot of contact with objects this watch is a die hard. Time date and accuracy are second to none. I had a mtg series 900 that croaked because the solar failed. What I do get a lot from people is it looks very big. When I tell them everything it does they back off. If your looking for something that takes a beating, updates itself and is never wrong buy it.It's not for looks however.

Comments about Casio Casio PAW1200-8V Pathfinder Atomic Solar Triple Sensor:

Keeps perfect time, automatically resets with no fuss. Solar feature means no battery to change and it recharges itself in very little time so getting it enough light requires no special effort. Bulky but advertised as such. Light only stays on for two seconds when light button is pushed, could be longer. Temperature sensor only works accurately when off your wrist for five minutes or so because sensor is affected by body heat. Barometer and compass work great and are useful. Took to military exercises in the Mojave Desert and was perfect.

Comments about Casio Casio PAW1200-8V Pathfinder Atomic Solar Triple Sensor:

As a long-time Suunto Vector wearer, I was apprehensive when I ordered the Casio Pathfinder 1200. All my concerns were quickly put to rest after my first day with this fine watch. The altimeter worked quite well on my first hike. As long as you reset your altitude to zero at the start of your hike/climb, the Pathfinder is very accurate at measuring your relative vertical distance. The barometer takes readings every 2 hrs and displays them nicely as a histogram. Helpful in predicting if bad weather may be on the way as you see the pressure dropping. The compass is simply amazing. I found it to be spot on. The watch housing is all plastic but seems sturdy enough to take a beating. Build quality is excellent. On the downside, the watch is a bit bulky for most. The watch face is very reflective and makes it a challenge to read. The light only lasts for 2 sec, which can be a problem if you need to read the compass or altimeter for sequential readings. I wish there was a manual option to allow the light to stay on until you press the light button again. Buttons are nearly flush with the watch design, giving little tactile feedback. The auto-light function is quite good. The face will light up briefly when you angle the watch correctly. Overall I've been very happy with this purchase and will likely buy another in the future.
