Almost a perfect G-Shock except for a couple of minor and one major problem. (1) The day/date are not shown together as in other 5600 model G-Shocks. Why? (2) The recessed buttons on my particular watch are especially recessed and at times hard to push. (3) The biggest disappointment is that the alarm beep is not very loud. It is hard to hear unless in a very quiet environment. Timex alarms are much louder and more useful. On the positive side, the band is much more comfortable on this model than on the least expensive 5600 models. Even though it may look the same, it is a thicker/softer rubber material. Overall my favorite type of G-Shock as it is much smaller and thinner on the wrist than a lot of the current G-Shocks. It won't overwhelm the wrist of the average person and could even be worn under a long sleeve shirt and jacket. I think the watch says "I'm a practical person who doesn't need a Rolex or James Bonds Omega to stroke my ego, even though I could afford it." However if it makes you feel better, I understand that the 5600 model has been certified by NASA to be worn by astronauts for space flight. I saw one on display (along with the Omega Speedmaster) at the space flight museum near the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

I use this watch primarily when I do yard work or when I engage in activities that would damage my other watches. I really appreciate the radio controlled timekeeping feature that keeps the watch accurate at all times. I didn't give it a "five" only because it is not as stylish as my Casio GW800-1V. It does, however, serve the purpose for which I purchased it.

This is a great watch for the price. It is accurate, durable, and looks pretty cool. I wear it kayaking, surfing, and spearfishing, and it has performed flawlessly. And to address the review saying the band is too large, the extra band length is great when you are diving. I wear a 5mm suit and 3mm gloves, and have plenty of band to wrap all the way around them. I definitely recommend this watch for anyone who wants a good tough and dependable watch that wont break the bank.

I use this watch every day for work. I haven't taken it diving yet, but intend to. It successfully updates the time via the signal from Colorado, every night. It is accurate to the second when compared to the "official US time" at http://www.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Pacific/d/-8/java

I like the simplicity of this watch. It sincs with the atomic clock in Fort Collins every night without fail. A few hours in the sun keeps the battery charge in "high". Very rugged and dependable. I don't have to worry about knocking this watch around with the 200 meter water resistance and G-shock capability. Definitely worth the money.

The nice things about these watches is that you do not have to reset them or replace batteries. Not even for leap year or switching between std and daylight saving times. Set them and forget them. When traveling from Europe and across both the Atlantic and the U.S., only one button was used to adjust to the correct time zone.

Very classic design but follows the lineage with modern technology. I've been a g-shock follower for some time and this is definitely one of the best watches for the money. You've got all of your basic features, a bright light, g-shock toughness, light on the wrist, and atomic time keeping! You always have the right time. The only thing they could have done better with it is to make the reception better and have the multi-band time support for different countries.

Solar charging works very well, although you should leave it in a window for about a day when you first get the watch. Atomic watch re-syncs daily on the east coast! Really an excellent product. I recommend it!

Very classic watch and super clean watch back. I love that I never have to set the time. Genius! It even saves power at night. The solar cells are around the face of the digits.

This model is easier to see than the black LCD model.

I love the classic G-Shock style of this watch. Not as chunky as some G's but not to thin. Atomic syncs everynight(in GA). Solar power works great too. What more could you want in a watch you wear daily?

This watch is a great watch. That's all there is to it. I wanted buy an additional G-shock but had 2 main criteria points to consider.

1. Wanted it to be solar powered. This watch has it. That way, you don't need to spend the extra money when replacing your battery to get the G-shock proof seal.

2. Did not want the huge bulky look that most of the G-shocks have. This is a more slim "Classic Casio" looking watch, but with G-shock extras.

The auto El backlight is cool. The description doesn't say much about it, but what it does is when the surrounding is dimly lit, you can rotate your arm (face of watch on extensor side of arm-NOT palmar side) toward your face and the backlight will automatically illuminate. It is cool, but it does use more energy so I finally turned mine off - unless going to the movies, I turn it on.

The watch Band: The band seems to be a little longer the the previous models to fit the wrist of an Offensive Lineman - although if you are a big wristed fellow and it doesn't fit, don't pound down my door :)

The snooze alarm is cool. It will go off every 5 minutes until you turn it off in the alarm mode... It will wake me up and is the perfect snooze alarm. I don't have to get out of bed to turn the alarm off.

Stopwatch: I use the stopwatch to gauge my workout lift/rest intervals, so it is great, I use it a lot.

Countdown Timer: pretty cool, have not used it as much as I thought, but when I need it, I am not looking for a countdown timer, I already have it.

Atomic Time: Just about one of the coolest features of this watch. Being in the medical field, I NEVER have to worry about have the correct time, if there is a dispute on time, I know I'm right.
