The small dial indicators (battery, etc) have reflective rings around them, which are quite distracting and make the whole face hard to read under certain conditions.

Used for running, police/swat/water work. Tough product. Even though I "dinged" the crystal the first day, have had no probs. I did have to modify one of the strap holes. It seemed it was either too tight or way too loose with the way the strap holes are placed. A sharp knife corrected the problem. Otherwise, very satisfied.

I had never heard of G-Shocks until I saw a friend's atomic solar. He showed me all the features and how durable his watch was, even taking a key and scratching on the crystal-didn't leave a single mark.
I immediately began shopping for G-Shocks and got this one because I like the looks of this one the best. I've already banged it against stuff quite a few times and you'd never know it. Not only does it resist functional damage, but it seems to resist cosmetic damage as well. I don't think I'll ever buy anything but a G-Shock in the future, maybe a pathfinder...

I'm the type of guy that has to research every anything he buys. I spent over a year looking for the perfect watch. I needed something that was functional for work, sports, and formal events. Which ment it had to have an assortment of functions, it had to be durable and it had to look good. I found several nice watches and spent months debating them. In the end this watch won out because it had the needed functions, it was well built, although a sport watch it still had a touch of class and it was less than half the price of its competition. Buy it. you know you want it.

Employed in Law Enforcement. I have purchased several digital watches. All damage easy or fall appart in less than one year. This is by far the best one I have to date. Originally planed to wear just to work. Like it so much, it has become my everyday watch.

I like the watch and would buy it aganin... if you have more money go for the pathfinder series otherwise this one's very nice

No issues with immersion or getting knocked around, has stood up to daily wear.
Specific orientation required to receive the radio signal for calibration and it must be stationary during reception.
The back-light is functional but not best in class compared to other devices.
