Don't let the price tag fool you, the Carbine series delivers more bang for your buck than anything in its class. Just like its bigger brother, Carbines are constructed of aerospace grade aluminum and feature high-strength stainless shafts and triggers. They're powered by one or two ½" Hi-Mod bands and a low-profile, pistol grip handle that makes for easy target acquisition. So, if you want a spear gun that will bring home plenty of fish without breaking the bank, the Carbine fits the bill. The Carbine Series spear guns are a great all-purpose gun for small to large game, light, fast guns for use on medium-sized fish.

Comments about JBL JBL D8 Super Carbine Speargun (D-8):

I wrote a review on this speargun three years ago. The gun is still working well and has put many fish on the table. I wash the gun in fresh water after use and there are no signs of corrosion. We use the gun with just one band and I decided to shorten the line so that it makes only one loop back to the handle. This makes reloading MUCH easier. I would NOT shorten the line if I used both bands. Good hunting.

Given the price, this is an awesome gun. Been using it for 4 years on fish from 12-36". There's nothing fancy about it, just a nice robust design that'll put fish in the cooler.

Comments about JBL JBL D8 Super Carbine Speargun (D-8):

This was my varry first Speargun and i was so happy i got it i did not care what people told me about the gun untill after a few trys in the ocean and the first thing that i did not like about the gun was the rope thats attached to the shaft to the gun it, only lasted up to 4 weeks of use after i shot a fish and it ran in to a hole and the rope rubbed agenst the reef and broke. Another thing that was not good was the muzzle that the shaft shot through, it made the gun more unaccurate, because the muzzle was BIG! and the shaft just moved around when i was diving.but i was just a rooky then untill i want to buy myself a better spear gun so i saw how Junk it was so i bought my self a Omer Exalibur 2000 130cm long (51 inches)it was only[$] you should only buy this gun if its your first time Speargun Fishing. Most things about the gun are okay. The biggest problem is the way the shooting line was made to work. Very poor construction. If looking for a cheap gun, go with Beuchat Marlin.

Comments about JBL JBL D8 Super Carbine Speargun (D-8):

For reef fishing in the FL Keys we use the gun with just one band. This is a good basic gun for reef fish like snapper, grouper, and hogfish. The only con is that the line is difficult to reload in the water after a shot, esp. with gloves - it takes practice. No signs of corrosion after a year of use.

this gun is very good in every way. it has good range and is very durable. great for all conditiones. Very Lightweight and easy to move in water. Only thing is when you change from safe to fire it makes noise which someties scares away fishes.
