Brand: Ab Biller
Located in: Add-On Gear, Spearguns
A specially manufactured, sandblasted 1" diameter stainless steel is used exclusively during the production of A.B. Biller tubular spearguns. A unique sealplug prevents water from seeping into the gun barrel and is guaranteed to withstand pressure to 200' underwater. One to three nylon guide rings (depending on the length of the speargun) assures accuracy and a quiet projection when the shaft is released.

The stainless steel speargun is available with the same standard features as its wooden counterpart, including hardened stainless spring steel shaft; hardened stainless spring steel double barb, rockpoint, swivel tip; two 9/16" gun bands; and the redesigned grip and trigger mechanism.

I've shot lots of rock fish and kelp bass with this gun. I've shot at 2 sheepheads and the spear just bounced off. Not enough power for those big guys. This is my first spear gun and I am enjoying it.

This gun works great, moves through the water easy, you can bring it up on fish quicker. I borrowed a high dollar gun from a friend I was thinking about buying, it was too bulky and heavy. I couldn't wait to get my biller back in my hands. If this is your first gun, wait til' you get used to it and then buy some 5/8" bands for more range.

Comments about Ab Biller AB Biller Stainless Steel Professional Speargun:

I have used this gun, 36", in northern Saskatchewan, Canada, in the shield lakes (rocky bottom). I have not had any trouble with the tip (yet), it has acceptable range, and has plenty of power for all of the game I could go for, I even claimed a 35 lbs Northern Pike without any problems, its easy to maneuver, and is a pretty quiet shooter. Most metal guns have a louder shot under water, but this one is not bad.

Comments about Ab Biller AB Biller Stainless Steel Professional Speargun:

Stainless steel AB Biller guns are designed for hardcore hunters. I tried 48" and 54", and I prefer the longer one. They are very powerful, and accurate. Solid construction. It is a bit heavy underwater, so you need to get used to carrying it along your body instead of ready for aiming troughout entire dive time. But - it pays when you struggle with big fish trying to stabb it - you don't need to worry that your gun floats away. Just drop it next to you and you will find it there when you're done. Easy reloading, solid, powerful and accurate. Better then Riffe's guns. Strongly reccomend.

A good gun for the price, i did install larger bands and had the gun painted with a duraliner at a truck bed liner place. They did an excellent job for very little price. Made the gun float better and more durable.

Comments about Ab Biller AB Biller Stainless Steel Professional Speargun:

Cannot beat this gun for the money. I have the 48" version with my own 5/8" bands (three of them) with cable wishbones. This gun shoots very fast when loaded with three larger than stock bands. Also the shaft puts up with a tremendous amount of abuse (I've hit rocks/bottom many a time and have only had to file the tip sharp again).

Some problems with the stock gun:
1. 2 5/16" bands are not enough
2. gun sinks even without the shaft (I use a reel and it would sink anyhow).
3. the tip comes tighten very tight but soon unscrews without warning. The tip should probably be locktited or somehow secured. My roomate and I both have the same gun and the tips can fall off if not screwed on tight or locktited (no big deal to fix).
4. floppers are a bit small but ok

Pros
1. Gun shoots extremly fast with no shaft flex even when loaded with 3 bands
2. shaft can take a beating and then some.
3. dead nuts accurate
4. stainless steel ... not much maintenance
5. swivel tip is good for keeping fish on
6. works well with reel.
7. safety is easy to get on and off and trigger pull is just about right (a hair stiff for my likin).
