Comments about Sealife Sealife SL1816 DC800 & DC1000 Travel Charger (Battery, charger, 12V DC cable):

Charging your spare battery on the way to the dive site. Is about useless on a dive trip without the AC charger. I want to charge the spare while I am getting my fins wet.

Comments about Sealife Sealife SL1816 DC800 & DC1000 Travel Charger (Battery, charger, 12V DC cable):

The most economical way to get an under water digital camera that isn't a toy IMHO is the SeaLife DC800 Reefmaster. Stick it in its case by day with or without the external strobes and get all those wonderful underwater shots. That night back at the hotel or on the live aboard, you can pop it out of the case and you have a decent live 8MP digital camera.

Unfortunately, Sealife's battery charger requires you to leave your camera sitting out on a shelf with an rather small untethered rubber dust/moisture plug (read easy to lose) sitting next to it plugged into the A/C adapter.

With this kit you can come back from your dive to a fully charged battery sitting in a lightweight plastic housing that uses the A/C adapter that came with your camera to run it. They also supply a 12v auto adapter for field use but unless you're really on the move you probably won't need it too much. Still not bad to have in a pinch.

The next morning the 1st battery is charged up for your diving and you can stick your 2nd battery back in the travel charge for use that evening.

If the thing gets knocked on the floor it's unlikely to be damaged.
