I used it for snorkeling so far, and I've got nice pictures and good videos. I you like to take UW images and don't want to spent a grate amount of money this is a very good option. True, sometimes a black spot appears it the image due to flash/housing combination, but avoiding the use of total wide angular together with the flash or using a flash diffuser will solve the problem.

I dive in the Pacific NW and have wanted a camera for some time. This is a great entry level camera and fit the bill for me very well. Only a couple of gripes and they're pretty minor. 1) Needs a flash diffuser or you get a bad lens barrel shadow (Dark water and night diving) I use an off-camera strobe setup and that pretty well negates that problem 2) Control buttons are rather close together for a cold water divers gloves to manage easily, but for warmer climes they would be fine. 3) Need to use a focus light for low light situations, Dive light works fine for this. I've had it down below 90' with no issues and have been quite pleased with the results. All in all a great entry level camera set and a good value especially for warm water divers.

Comments about Intova Intova IC12 12MP Digital Camera with 180' (55 meters) Waterproof Housing:

I only experienced the shadow that others have experienced while on the surface and it was only very few photos - I think is has to do with lighting in the room.

I dove to 105 feet with this camera - I forgot to use/bring the white slate that is included which would have resulted in better photos. It's a great little camera for getting up close. I only had bad or blurry pictures when I was having some buoyancy problems. It was easy to switch between photos and video underwater. Very easy to get the pictures/videos onto your computer. After diving I took the camera out and about and got nice shots of the island. Overall, it's a good little camera without breaking the bank. I plan on finding an exterior strobe to work with it.

I've taken over a hundred photos so far with this camera and have had great results. I'd be happy to share some with anyone who would like to see. ([@])I have never had any wierd shadows as other reviewers have complained about. Maybe The shutter cover is not opening all the way or something else is obstructing the lense!! The dive shop asked if they could use some of my shots on their website, so it is not just me that thinks the Intova takes great photos...Haven't shot any video yet.

Comments about Intova Intova IC12 12MP Digital Camera with 180' (55 meters) Waterproof Housing:

For the price this is a very nice camera, the camera is light weight and easy to use. The water proof case is built well and feels rugged and has a good double lock to keep it from opening underwater, but the buttons are hard to use and need to be memorized because the little picture indents are hard to see under water and what button does what. Also when taking pictures close the flash causes a shadow on the lower left side, but if you take a picture from 5+ feet the shadow is gone. The video on this camera came out very well. Overall I'm happy with the camera for as much diving that I do, but wish the battery life was better (good for about 90 min) and the shadow bugged me. But I would recommend it!

I have designed and built my own custom speargun mount for this camera. Overall the package Works Great!

I use it to film spearfishing trips and post videos on the Interweb. LOTS of FUN! I have been impressed with how a simple caveman like me can operate it and make decent short films. It is likely a bit primitive for advanced underwater photographers, but if you do not work for Discovery Channel or Animal Planet this will suit your needs.

So far I have 4 dives (about 2 1/2 hours) of filming with it. I am very pleased with my purchase. The price at the Local Dive shops for this package are almost double the Leisure Pro price. Thanks LP!!!

Comments about Intova Intova IC12 12MP Digital Camera with 180' (55 meters) Waterproof Housing:

I just received my camera the other day and have not tried it in the water. It does have a dark spot in the corner like the other reviewer said when it is in the case. I did see they make a diffuser for the camera and will order one. I took a piece of wax paper from the kitchen and placed it over the flash and this almost eliminated the dark spot. As for everything else. It is a cheaper camera with higher end features. It is lighter than my Sony and Olympus, that is why I think it is cheaper. It just does not have the quality feel of my other cameras, but I did pay more for them than I did with this one. The waterproof case is very nicely made, I am impressed. For the money I don't think you can go wrong with this camera.

Comments about Intova Intova IC12 12MP Digital Camera with 180' (55 meters) Waterproof Housing:

First let me say I have yet to dive with this camera however allow me to provide my observations thus far. PROS:...Decent photos for an amateur like myself. ...Good versatility with many options, ie image stabilization, and macro shots (close ups), and several other environment options (some may be unecessary)....Easy link with the PC....Good battery life.CONS:...Lower image quality on the TFT screen...When in the waterproof box, the options buttons can be hard to utilize....Unacceptable shadow in lower left of each image when using the flash in the waterproof box. This is due to the flash of the camera being too close to the lense ring of the box. I might have to get inginious with a tiny mirror to reflect some of the light to the otherwise shadowed area. It bugs the !%#$ out of me. Again I have not used it underwater yet so I can't comment on its performance there. Its a cheap price for a decent camera and a typically expensive waterproof box so I guess overall its a good deal
