Comments about Intova Intova 9.0MP Compact Digital Camera with 130' (40 meters) waterproof housing:
Camera works great and delivers very good pictures. Very easy to get used to and all functions are user friendly. Took it with me to the Carribean on 7 dives, took 165 pictures and videos. All turnde out very good. Battery life is the only draw back to this camera. Each dive I had to replace the batteries or it would die on me during the dive. Use rechargables and the problem goes away.

Comments about Intova Intova 9.0MP Compact Digital Camera with 130' (40 meters) waterproof housing:
As I have yet to see any reviews for this camera this review will be lengthy in order to answer some questions you all may have.First I will explain the reason I bought this camera. I am an Open Water diver and last year I went on some dives and used a reusable film camera, I took a lot of pictures. Taking lots of pictures equaled paying a lot for processing. I wanted an alternative, so naturally I decided to go digital. Digital underwater cameras are rather pricey, except for the Intova company, which seemed to make relatively affordable cameras with pretty decent reviews. With that in mind, wanting a relatively inexpensive, good depth 100'+, with video capability, this camera was perfect.Today was my first day testing the camera. I went on two dives in Marathon, FL. In prepping the camera I used a 4gb SD card (the max this camera supports), 2 Rechargeable Energizer LiH AAA batteries (850mHh), and silicon grease lightly around the seal on the outer o-ring of the camera. After using it I am completely impressed with this camera considering it only cost ~$100. Pros:-Battery life is insane! I used this camera on two dives in which I took a mixture of video and pictures for about 2.5hrs. After this time the battery indicator still shows 3/4 bars on the battery! You may not be able to get this out of regular batteries, but the reusable Energizers do seem to keep going and going.-Pictures:The pictures are all really nice. There are a couple settings on the camera, pretty standard ones (Portrait, Night Scene, Sports, Auto, etc. 7 total). I kept my camera on Auto. I used the Sport setting just testing in my hotel room and you have to keep the camera extremely still otherwise you will get a blur and holding your self completely still underwater is sometimes and often difficult. -Video:The videos I took were quite nice. They are 480p resolution, so they aren't in HD or anything like that. If you are wanting a camera that has that capability it will cost you quite a bit more than this camera, for me this video quality is just fine and an added bonus since I was just looking for a digital camera. The video also contains sound which most of the time just captures you breathing. :P-How many photos can I take? How much video can I record?Using a 4GB SD card this camera will take 3,767 pictures at the highest resolution setting. As far as video using the same size card you can record 1 hr and 47 minutes of video at 640 by 480 resolution. Personally I wouldn't worry about storage, I have a feeling you will run out of battery life long before you fill up the memory card.-Waterproof Housing and Depth Rating:This camera is rated for up to 130' which is great for most applications. The housing seems to hold up perfectly fine, at least for now. Using silicon grease on the seal and diving to 35' I noticed no leaks at all. Also, Intova has a 1 year warranty on their cameras so if a problem does a occur they will take care of you.-Easy to use:This camera is very easy to use, but like all new pieces of technology it will take a little playing around with to get used to. Using it while in the underwater casing it is just as easy to use as outside the case.Cons:-Depth rating:If you are a ship wreck diver or plan on doing dives greater than 130' you will probably want to find another camera.-High Resolution Video:If you are looking for high definition video capabilities you will have to find a different more pricey device.-Construction:The camera does seem to feel a little cheap, but it seems to hold up just fine.Overall I would definitely recommend this camera for anyone interested in doing some underwater photography or underwater video recordings, especially if you are on a budget. If you are interested in getting into underwater photography without paying $500 for a camera, this would be a great choice. If you have any questions about this camera feel free to send me a message: [@]. I hope this review has been helpful for those looking into a new camera.
