The #6147 housing for the Canon G7 includes special conversion circuitry to utilize the Canon eTTL system with any current model DS SubStrobe, providing total compatibility as the DS SubStrobes emulate a proper Canon strobe.

The housing includes a diffuser to allow photos to be taken with the built-in strobe of the camera.

The Release Handle and Tray included allow easy attachment and removal of optional SubStrobe mounting arms at the touch of a button.

Housing measures 7" wide (10" wide with the removable handle bar attached), 6" high, and 6" deep. It is molded of corrosion free clear polycarbonate and operates to 200 feet (60m).

Every camera function except the self timer and continuous button is accessible in this very sophisticated housing installation. Complete housing and camera weighs less than 6 pounds.

Optional Inon UWL-100, Epoque, and the #6420 Ikelite wide angle lenses attach directly to the port, but extreme lens length precludes any advantage.

We are working on alternative port possibilities that can be offered for this camera.

An optional #6441.41 UR Pro removable color correcting filter for use without flash is available

The Ikelite DS-51 SubStrobe offers the best of everything from its compact size to providing eTTL or six manual powers by rotating asingle knob on the strobe.

The Ikelite DS-125 SubStrobe provides TTL and choice of full, 1/2, 1/4, & 1/8th manual powers.

An optional #4100.6 EV Manual Controller providing 10 power settings with any current DS SubStrobe can be attached with sync cord ortriggered by the camera strobe. Its use precludes use of the TTL conversion circuitry.

Non-Ikelite strobes can be used operating as manual strobes, but not with the EV Manual Controller. They will require a special sync cord.

Comments about Ikelite Ikelite Underwater Camera Housing for Canon Powershot G-7 Digital Camera:

Ikelite has a well-deserved excellent reputation. After several floods with manufacturers' housings, I stepped up to the Ikelite. Though the Ikelite housing was considerably more expensive, I enjoy the peace of mind that it affords. It looks cool, gives access to all but one or two controls, and has been very dependable. Downsides are its bulk, weight, and lens cover design. The bulk precludes it from going into crevices and other tight spots the way that slimmer manufacturers' housings can. The lens cover doesn't attach to the housing, and fell off on one of my first dives. That wouldn't be such an issue except that the lens apparently scratches very easily (and scratched deely enough that I couldn't shoot macro or video because the camera kept focusing on the scratches). Though not as rugged as it might appear, this is an excellent housing overall.
