Comments about GoPro Go-Pro Digital Hero 3mp Video/Camera, Silver:

Despite the fact the housing is actually waterproof up to 30 meters, with pressure, buttons get stucked around 20 meters and the camera cannot be operated. If unlucky the filming mode stays "on" and the batteries are dead at the end of the dive.
Ok for pool diving, filming students training, or shallow dives.
The strap also offer a position which it not so convenient ... Waiting for an upgraded version, as I still like the concept

We mounted to a skateboard helmet and use on spearfishing dives. just turn it on, close the waterproof cover and go. with the helmet mount, it records what you see. simple, rugged. have taken it to 80' no problem. no lights needed. could use a filter to make the deeper video less green, we made one from reddish cellophane. Check out video on utube. user jackup9

I took this camera to Kauai Hawaii for snorkling. I had problems with it shutting off while underwater and accidently touching the on/off button which since I couldn't review the pix (understandable but frustrating), I didn't realize I had lost/missed all my underwater pix until I downloaded the memory card. The pix that did come out, many were blurry and the fish, due to their size, at times were undistinguishable when uploaded. I was very unhappy at the loss of pictures, especially as it was a once in a lifetime trip. In addition, when I returned home, the outer plastic casing broke where the clip attaches to the casing to seal the camera inside.

Used this camera while diving during a Caribbean cruise in Feb. For a compact camera it worked great but I would suggest not storing camera in the housing since it kept turning it on and burned up a set a batts which I found out halfway thru my first dive of the day. Downloads pics to laptop with ease. I really like the video feature if you have a 2gb mem card inplace you can take aprox 60 min of vid. I took this camera to 80' while diving the RMS Rhone in Tortola.

We were looking forward to using this camera's video features while diving. On the package it states that the camera is water proof to 100' but after reading the instructions the housing is only water proof to 30'. We don't want to be limited to shallow waters so we are sending this camera back.
On the plus side, the small size and sturdy wrist straps wouldn't get in our way and it would be fun for the kayak trips. I would recommend this to non divers
