High Intensity Discharge (HID) illumination technology allows this dive light to emit three times more light per watt of battery power than standard xenon or halogen lamps. Great set, the Light Cannon is a little heavy but it does put out lots of light. The Mini Q40 Light I keep in my BCD as a backup and a regular dive light for day dives. The Blue Tang Titanium Knife I have not had any problems with.

I do 10-15 night dives a year and have used the UK Light Cannon 100 for three years because it is bright and compact. Bought this Tribal Pack as a backup at a great price. Unfortunately, the main light broke after a very minor fall (standing face up, it fell over sideways.) [...]

The knife and back up light were great additions to this set, but it was the Light Cannon that I wanted. Unfortunately the O-ring was bad right out of the box and the light flooded on the first dive. I sent it back and it was repaired but it still didn't last very long. Just a few more dives and it flooded again. The light itself was brilliant while it lasted. Great light just bad construction.

Excellant diving light. Light colour better than Alpha's, but Alpha's are slightly brighter. Perfect for photography being a "mobile sun light source". Q40 can be used as a back up torch which is a bonus seeing your recieving a kit discount price. The knife is also very well made and has remained sharp for well over a year with use. Definitly recommend this kit, but do take into consideration the replacement globes are expensive in comparison with an Alpha which uses common household 12 volt halogen down light globes. Having said that I am stil on my original globe and haven't had any problems to date
