Comments about Underwater Kinetics Underwater Kinetics Mini Q40 Light:

I just took it to Bonaire and it did fine. One thing, if you only loosen the lens enough for the light to go out and take it deep, the pressure will make it come on. When you turn it off, turn it an extra 1/4 turn.

Said water resistant to 500 ft. - no way to test it there, but it worked great at 100 ft w/o leaking. Nice narrow beam, great for illuminating under rocks or in holes, or if you just need an emergency light. Well built and rugged, too.

Comments about Underwater Kinetics Underwater Kinetics Mini Q40 Light:

Compact with good focused beam. Much brighter than my Princeton Tec 40 light and it is more compact. I was surprised at the brightness of this little light. It feels very heavy duty, nothing shakes around in the light. I use and abuse this light, heavy gear smacks it around in the gear bags and I don't worry about it breaking at all. This light is NOT a primary light, but makes a good backup or attach 1 or 2 of them to your mask. silicone snorkel rings fit this light perfect. Don't buy the optional smask clips they are such a rip off, there's no reason why the clips should be the same price as the light.

The only thing I don't like, is to turn it off you have to rotate the head counterclockwise and clockwise to turn it on. I found the light on in my BC after a dive and it had twisted itself on.

Cons:
Drains Batteries

Comments about Underwater Kinetics Underwater Kinetics Mini Q40 Light:

The light is great for me. I need the convienance of hands free when working on props, zincs, ect... It's not to heavy when attached to your mask that it breaks the mask seal. The only draw back for me is battery life only last about 4 1/2 hours. I do recommend it to others!

Comments about Underwater Kinetics Underwater Kinetics Mini Q40 Light:

Great little light is is perfect for a back-up to a big light. Not intended as the primary light. During lobster season, I mount this little light on my mask strap (UK mask strap mount)so I can measure bugs with both hands free from holding any lights as one is holding the bug, the other the measuring gauge. It mounts great and I don't even know it is there, even with strong currents. It is powerful enough to look into holes only a few feet deep. Battery life is very good and I haven't had a bulb go out or break yet. Also a great little light to have in your dive bag and it is inexpensive.

Comments about Underwater Kinetics Underwater Kinetics Mini Q40 Light:

I use this small and light weight torch attached to my mask. The light point exactly at what I’m looking at and leaves my two hands free to operate my camera. It is great because the light help me find the subject and focus the camera. Before I had to maneuver the light and the camera at the same time and many times in the exchange process I lost the subject. Otherwise I needed my buddy to light up the subject so I could find it in the viewfinder. The down side is that you have to be careful when you want to look at your buddy because you will be pointing the light at his face.

Comments about Underwater Kinetics Underwater Kinetics Mini Q40 Light:

We bought four of these for our snorkeling trip to Hawaii, and they suited our needs perfectly. We used them daily with no leaks or other problems. Then when we got home we put them in the closet and we've been using them any time we need a flashlight. They have a great, bright beam, better than any of our other "regular" flashlights.
