OVERALL THIS A GREAT LIGHT, ESPECIALLY FOR THE MONEY. ONLY THING I DON'T LIKE IS THE SWITCH, YOU PRETTY MUCH HASVE TO HOLD THE LIGHT IN ONE HAND AND FLIP THE SWITCH WITH THE OTHER. NOT GOING TO DO IT ALL WITH ONE HAND AS I WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO.

I don't use this light very often so it was very disappointing when the plastic part on the inside of the light that turns the light on and off broke making the light useless. Haven't contacted the company yet. Stay tuned.

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, NEW 400 Lumens Shockwave LED:

This light has serious design and reliability flaws. Before entering the water for my first dive with this light it stopped working on the high setting. I sent it in for repair when I got back. Princeton Tec returned it 6 weeks later. I'm leaveing for a trip next week so I put batteries in it to check it out- it worked for 5 seconds and 2 of the 3 LEDs flickered and went out. Buy another brand - I just did

I just wanted to post this comment about the light switch breaking since I've had it happen to mine.

So here's how to prevent it from happening. When you unscrew the cap and replace the batteries you need to be extra careful when you screw the cap back on. The little plastic switch on the bulb needs to be in the same direction as the bigger switch on the case. if they're opposite then there is a chance the internal switch will break off when you screw the cap back on. At least that's what I think. After paying attention to this I have used my light dozens of times without it breaking.

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, NEW 400 Lumens Shockwave LED:

This light produces a bright focused beam, and i am overall happy with the purchase. Cons of the light is that it is heavy, and the on / off switch is difficult to operate and i am concerned that it might break after a couple of dives. My brother bought the Big Blue handheld light (i think 250 lumens), and this is by far a superior light. On / off switch is easier to use, solid construction, and weighs much less.

Light worked perfectly. Dive had a little bit of everything, rock walls, sunken boats, thick kelp, small caves. Light worked well under all conditions. I tested down to 80 feet. Have not used on a night dive yet.

No question, one of the best lights on the market. LED is the only way to go. Less power consumption. Bulbs will not break with thousands of hours life. Well focused beam. Great build quality. Great value for money. After seeing mine, all my friends are upgrading. Go for it !

Finally got to try my Princeton LED light. Tested it at 80' off La Jolla Shores. The beam is very bright and nicely focused, at least as bright as my UK Light Cannon.
One minor issue is the switch...according to my local dive shop the switch design fails quite often. We'll see how mine lasts...other than that...fantastic light!
