I love this light for lobster diving, I bought it as my main light after an unfortunate evening when 10 minutes into a dive the batteries in my only light died. My buddy had this light and for the rest of the evening we were switching off using it. I loved it

Just took this light to Belize and used it in caves, swim throughs and night dives. Extremely bright well focused beam.

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
I have had 2 Princeton Tec LED lights - Both had the switch break on their first trip. They just fell apart with pieces in the battery compartment. It's a nice bright light when it works, but in my experience highly unreliable - especially for any situation where light failure is serious. Princeton Tec will replace defective ones, but I will carry something else on night dives.

It is a shame that such a good light comes with such a bad switch. The safety is difficult to operate. The switch on the unit I bought arrived dead, it only worked if the batteries were absent. My dive buddy has the same lamp, his switch broke on the second use.[...]

The lihgth is very powerfull, the best that I saw in LED.
The duration of the battery is very good
The ON/OFF switch broke very esay. I think it's fabric defect, and should be rapidly change for a more resistent plastic ou metal.
I use as professional service in sewers mantaince.

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
After only a couple of uses, on land no less, the switch broke off. The switching mechanism is far too delicate for diving.
Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
Good, solid well made light

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
The on/off switch broke on my first night dive with it. Will definitely recommend NOT to any of my students.
If you're a cave or wreck diver, DO NOT rely on this torch. The switch could easily break during your dive.
However, the small back-up light that comes as a gift with the primary one is reliable.
On/off switch broken after only one dive

The lock broke right out of the box when I went to turn it on. The switch lasted 2 dives before it broke off. Will update based on PT guarantee.

Caution: in the light I received, I had to put the batteries in opposite the way the sticker on the inside of the light recommends.
Thanks to customer service for having notified me of this... I was about to return it.
Light switch is a bit fragile. Be careful when switching it on and off.

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
Great product. The 3 LED lights make you stand out among other single beam lights. This light made it easy for me to identify my buddy (who had one) at night... I just looked for the 3 LED pattern as opposed to a single beam. The light was bright and reliable.
A week in bonaire and I love it.

Really good light... the beam is a bit weaker than expected, but not bad.

I have been through two of these Lights and the locking mechanism broke off of both. I finally switched over to the UK C8 eLED and have had no problems.
Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
This is an excellent light, and it gets even better with a free gift of backup light from Leisurepro. It could possibly the best light regardless the price, and the price is great. Very white, strong light and good battery life.
The only complain is the switch is not very well designed and hard to operate, if this light could ever break, the switch might be the weakest point as well. All in all, I will strongly recommend this light.
Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
great light, bright and more compact than similar lights. The tech-40 that comes with it is also nice.
Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
Throws a good amount of light. Heavy but compact enough to fit into a pouch I carry on my waist. Trigger will not be turned on accidentally. Good light for the price.
Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
First off, i have only owned a small ikelite pcm before this so I don't have much experience with larger dive lights but when i first got it, it was smaller than i imagined and the beam was very impressive. Seems pretty rugged although i have not used it much. Only complaint is the switch.. its hard to tell from low and high. otherwise I'm very happy.
Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
When diving with others using a different light, mine lit a larger area and was brighter.

This light is, in my opinion, quite a bit better than the other lights in its price range...wider beam and brighter light.

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
Great light. Had the light cannon but was about to buy my 3rd HID bulb [$] Not much more to buy this light with the smaller tec 40 thrown in. Good light.

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
I was very ipmressed by the cutting action of the white LED beam on the canon. Just a bit bulky if you are doing multiple things under the water (I.E. photography), but I let my dive buddy have the canon and I used the TEC 40 LED (FREE!!!!) and it was just as amazing. He would zoom in on long distance items and I still had the smaller one for myself. Good in or out of the water.

Great light... I'm a Pacific NW diver and I use it searching under rocks for lingcod... I'm also a Public Safety diver and it is lightweight enuff and bright enuff to use in the worst conditions.... even in 0 vis it will make a glow.
Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
This LED light is the perfect primary dive light with a true white light giving the diver better color viewing.

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
This light is great but a little heavy for me. It's also my first primary underwater light so it might be average and I just don't know it. Reliable with easy on/off switch and I love the bright yellow coloring!
Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
I'm very happy with this light! I've dived with buddys using canister HID's and other LED lights, this one provides nearly the same level of performance as lights that cost 2-3 times as much. It's a great primary light for night and deep/cold water. The on/off switch and lock are easy to operate with thick gloves.

This is a surprisingly bright light. I have actually used it more out of the water than in.
Everyone I show it to is impressed by how bright it is.
As always LeisurePro has delivered exactly what I ordered in a timely manner and at a very good price

This is a great dive light! I used it at 135' (Devil's Throat, Cozumel) up to the 50' dives, and it was awesome! Also took it on a night dive as my main light - perfect! Nice and compact, yet delivers more light than the big clumsy lights.

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
I compared every dive light and found in the end this one to be the best. Battery life, Price, and brightness is what makes this light the winner. LED has come a looong way. HID lights are too sensitive to breaking, and replacement bulbs too high, Halogen/Xenon bulbs drain batteries way to fast. This LED light features 9 Watts of power, or 3 watts on low, I almost always use it on 3 watts and it's still really powerful. The light is not too heavy, it is durable, feels good in the hand, and will light up things in front of you, but also 30' away.
Compare the brightness, and battery life of any dive light, and you will surely pick this light as your winner! The switch will not break, like happens on many of another brands lights (starts with a "U")
I do drift dives at night very often, this light is viewable from the boat from over a mile away. It has most likely saved a call to the coast guard.
PS, the light is not see though like in the displayed photo.

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
I use it for night diving for lobsters, it lasted through four tanks at about 4-5 hours and was still going. I have used it through two season without any problems, My dive buddy says it looks as bright as a car headlamp compared to his light which is the same light but the model light.
As always good service/delivery

Great LED
Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
So bright I usually have it on the low setting. This has been on several trips with me with no issues. Best light I've seen for the price, and after seeing the light you'll never go back to an incandescent bulb.
Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
Overall it's a great light. It's not HID bright by any means, but it's plenty bright enough for LED. When you compare it to other lights in it's price range, you will find this is the best light of the group.

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
Used one time and it didn't function after that. Contacted Princeton Tec and received no response. As I didn't save the box, I had nothing but a broken light to return.
Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
I own hunting and backpacking lights that are LED and the beams are all bright, but not as crisp as halogen lamps. This light is bright and crisp. In fact, it is much brighter than I expected an LED dive light to be.
Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
It is a nice light. I had done a few cave dives up 120 feet. The light worked there. I mostly dive in OC Maryland, where visibility is not great. I find this light good and reliable as my primary light. I know that this unit is not your typical top of the line model, but it is a good bargain for the money you pay for it.
Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
Powerful, wide light beam. My husband and I each bought one. We used them May 2007 in Bonaire on several night dives. Reliable with long battery life. Easy to carry and load with batteries. This is the only light you'll need. I highly recommend it.
Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
Outstanding, super bright dive light with long burn time.
Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
Great light for any price. The LED bulbs really put out great light intensity, lighting up any area more than any light I've used in the past. The multiple intensity settings also allow it to be used in a variety of situations, making it a great buy for everyone. It was a little heavy with all the batteries on land, but doesn't hinder the user once in the water. Overall a great dive light.
Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
Very bright, white light. Excellent for night dives and bright enough for daytime use. If it could be converted from a pistol grip to a lantern grip, it would be perfect. I have used it since it first hit the market. Hard to find a better light in it's price range.

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
Did some shopping around for a new light after my old non-Led Schockwave flooded. I am definiitely sold on the LeD lights, much more energy efficient and long lasting. You get a nice bright light without too much yellow as in the non-LeD bulbs.
Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
These are the brightest lights on the reef. It will really make night diving more fun becasue you will see more fish and things using it. They also make a smaller LED light with same bulbs etc that we recently bought and anxious to try. I wish they would make a LED "beacon" light to hang under the boat.

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
I bought this light and it was very quickly sent. I am exceptionally pleased with the lights performance. BUT! After one Night Dive, something happened and the switch broke so be careful with the mechanism. I suspect it was just the one I purchased, as in general, the mechanism and components used appear to be quite solid. Among 16 people on an advanced night dive class this was by far the brightest light there. One person even had a 6 D cell light and this one still outshined. I was very pleased. The only concern was with cloudy water, it was TO bright. But I noticed this was the same with the other lights as well.

smooth, even, and white light
Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
This is an awesome light! Super reliable - I've used a number of other dive lights that would break or leak after a single dive, would corrode and refuse to turn on, etc. I never have to worry about this light! The illumination I get from this light is AMAZING. The width and intensity of this light really opened up my field of view on night dives. Also, the light is very light (but not bouyant) compared to another light I had of similar intensity. The other light used 8 D cells and was far less reliable. Highly recommended!
Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, 2008 Shockwave LED:
I was really surprised by the intensity of the Shockwave LED. It is very bright, with almost a blue-like hue, and well-focused. I routinely dive in limited vis, the light really shines through the muck. It is compact and reliable. I don't think there is a better light on the market for the money.
