Bought two of these in different colors for a recent trip to Bonaire. 1 burned out mid-first dive on a night dive in 80degF water, and the second burned out mid second dive. Neither light leaked (That is good), so I can only imagine they both overheated. Very dissapointing!

While thin light sticks are good to attach to scuba tanks this item is 100 times better. When you night dive and visibility can be less than 6 feet you need a trong light to lead the way. I attach this to the valve are of my tank. If I needed a back up light - this item also serves as a flashlight and has adequate light strength. I purhcased three. One for me and one for each of my kids (1o and 12 yr old). They love it too.

It did a excellent job on are night dive in Grand Cayman! I bought one for my wife and me,it dosn't have that annoying blinking, also when you shut it off the cone glows for a long time. If the light happens to blink out you have plenty of time to make it back to the boat or finish the dive, because you can still see your buddy!Well worth the money

Great for tying to the tank neck during night dives to help buddies see where you are. Also, I keep one in a pocket during all dives, just in case...

With the rubber cone on the light, it makes a very effective marker light... somewhat brighter than a glow stick. However, I've never heard of a glow stick that failed during a dive. (If a chemstick lights when you snap it, it will run like it was advertised. If it fails to light [before your dive], grab another, they cost less than $[...].) If you hate throwing out chemsticks after every dive, the Aqua Flare is a good alternative. If your primary flashlight fails, you could pull off the ruber cone (even during the dive) and you'd have a light that's bright enough to at least read gauges. It's not a perfect light, but I'm completely satisfied with the one I bought.
