Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, Eco Flare:

Light comes with "constant on" LED (White) -AND- "flashing" LED (Red). I chose this only as a tank marker light, as it really doesn't have a "beam" like a dive light. Bought two - one for my wife and one for me. Product is compact and lightweight, which is perfect for combatting the ever decreasing weight restrictions on airlines.

What a great marker light for doing night diving. The lights were on sale and I purchased two of them.I have used other lights in the past for night diving. When I found out the light came with a red flasher and a bright white light, I use one on the tank and one on the flag flashing, thank you leisure pro.

I love this light! It's small, attaches easily to your cylinder using the toggle and lanyard. It's positively buoyant, and floats above your valve, so it's easy to see and the light is easily spotted in our often-limited Pacific NW vis. I have tried now about 3 other flashing marker lights, (some costing as much as $40) and am most impressed with this hard-working little light.

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, Eco Flare:

I like Princeton Tec equipment, so I didn't hesitate to pick up a couple of these for us to use as tank markers on night dives. They are simple and easy to operate, and priced right!

Haven't taken them on a dive yet, so we'll see how they hold up.

Of note, I think they are slightly negatively buoyant. It's also worth noting that to switch from constant on to flashing red, you have to change the bulb. That's not clear in the description.

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, Eco Flare:

Took two of these to Roatan to serve as the locator light for myself and my wife for our night dives. Very easy to use, worked perfectly. We could clearly see each other from a good distance away, but wasn't too bright to be annoying when close.
Would be nice to have place to keep the second bulb, but that's the only complaint I have.

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, Eco Flare:

I got one when I bought the Princeton Tec LED Pack, and I kept it as a emergency marker light, clipped to the shoulder of my bc. Now I use it as a backup light, as well as a night diving indicator light. I'm planning on buying a few more as well, to use as anchor line indicators, and at [$] each, it's a pretty cheap way to go, compared to glowsticks.

Don't buy any more glow sticks!

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, Eco Flare:

Absolutely the tank light to buy and forget about glow sticks forever. The red light bulb will make you easy to spot from far and it's not too bright as to disturb other divers while underwater.

The only con I have is the way the light turns on-off by twisting the white cap. If you over tighten the cap it will break and flood the light.

Princeton Tec is awesome about backing up their lights!

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, Eco Flare:

Beats a glow stick any day. It was perfect on the night dives I went on. It never bothered any other divers and was bright enough to be seen fifty feet away. The battery lasted for 5 days of use and was hassle free. This one is a keeper.

CA Blade
By CA BladeVerified Reviewer from San Francisco, CA on 3/27/2007
Cons:
Breaks Easily, Not Waterproof, Weak Beam
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, Eco Flare:

I found it to be not much brighter than a glow stick, and substatially more expensive. I had one of these but it leaked before I got to use it on a night dive. I threw it out, instead of asking PrincetonTec to repair or replace it. Their Aqua Flare is a much better light. It's brighter, similarly priced, and the cone can be removed to use it as a minimal flshlight. A few dollars more will get you a functional light. Skip the Eco Flare.
