Purchased a 3 piece set. Small strobe broken from day 1. Mid size now has the battery carrige plastic assembly crumbling apart and not useable. Called customer service here in my home state (NJ) and get NO return calls or help at all. Wouldn't buy ANYTHING Princeton Tec ever again. Horrible quality and even worse customer service.

I purchased this product along with 6 other Prinction Tec lights for use in nighttime sea kayaking where Deep submersion was not a concern. The strobe did not function out of the package! I could not get any response either by email or phone from the manufacturer. I finally had to disassemble the unit and being an engineer, repaired the circuit board myself (the board was actually broken). There is no way this occurred in shipping, basically a poorly produced and supported product. Purchase another brand if you want to count on this as a piece of safety equipment where your life may depend on it!

I am a US Sailing Umpire and Senior Judge, and spend a lot of time on the water. I purchased the Princeton Tec Aqua Strobe to attach to the PFD that I wear when I am umpiring or judging sailing race (I also wear the PFD kayaking). The Aqua Strobe easily attaches to the fitting on a medium to high end Kotatat or Salus brand kayaking PFD. While not bright enough for use in offshore racing (for which I would use an ACR Firefly or equivalent), the Aqua Strobe is very suitable for the applications I wear a PFD for. The one negative is the strobe could be brighter, but that would require a much bigger and heavier battery than one AA, which is not what you want on a recreational PFD.
very prompt, arrived in good contion

I bought this strobe to use as an ascent line marker and a reference point during night dives. It fits easily into a pocket, which is nice. It's not very bright, but good bright strobes for diving are actually pretty hard to find. It is buoyant, so you'll need to tie some weight on it to keep it submerged. Overall, it's not a bad strobe, but it would be nice if it was brighter.

Light does what it says. I would like it to turn on automatically when it hits the water. Its bulky to have on your life jacket. I ordered 4 one did not work and I have to send it back. All in all I think this is a good purchase. It is recommended by Practical Sailor.

It worked as a good night dive tank strobe, but it died after just 5 dives.

I have seen this light elsewhere for over list price. It is a GREAT back-up and does NOT take up any real space. Put a brass clip on it, or stuff in a pocket, and forget it's there. It's light enough that I even put it on the top of my Saftey tube and it did NOT fold it over when inflated. A real benefit to visibility at night. For bigger and brighter get a Tektite.

During a recent "dive-a-thon" to raise money for Cancer Care Manitoba research, the light ran for 10 hours continuously and was still going strong.
Great visibility under water!
Strap and web attachments are well planned and very useful.
Attach this to the end of your surface marker buoy and you have an effective visual location combo.
Customer Service was great!
Delivery was prompt, and when the item arrived defective (missing internal part) Leisurepro's support to replace it was fantastic.
Great people to deal with, they were responsive very fair and prompt. By far the best support I've experienced.
Thanks again!

I wanted a continous burn light - I eventually worked out that the bulbs are different. One is continuous, the other flashes. Be advised !

I attach it to my BC when night diving. It will be used as a signalling device in case I ever surface away from the boat.

I wouldn't recommend this as a primary strobe on a night or technical dive. Great size to stow and bring along as a backup.

doesn't seem to be as bright/intense as my older model but still a good solid and recommended piece of safety equipment. Looking forward to smaller lighter LED strobes hopefully coming out in the future.

For maximum burn time, I use an Energizer lithium instead of the supplied alkaline.

I like this light for an emergency flasher. My wife and I just came back from Bonaire. We "tested" the lights as part of our tech equipment. The didnot leak and worked at all depths and on the surface.
Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, Aqua Strobe:
This light is compact and an essential piece of gear for any safety conscious diver. It emits a bright flash that is easily seen and recognizable as an emergency beacon. For me safety is paramount and I would not get in the water withouy some type of emergency lighting. This one is just the ticket.

A good decent Strobe. Slightly too bright to use as a personal locator beam. I like Princeton Tech, but don't get the Eco flare it is not as bright as this strobe. I have 2 of these strobes. I use one on the anchor line and one on my boat. You can view it pretty far under water.
It has a very long battery life, and you can keep one in your BC pocket for emergency's. I have seen brighter strobes, but they are bigger, and take C batteries. This one is great for its little pocket size.

Not very bright for a strobe. I purchased one and it failed after less than an hour. OK for anchor light or shore marker...not bright enough or reliable enough for life-threatening situations.

Great and very bright strobe, which helps students in murky and "green" water not to loose sight of me, their primary support.

I bought one when I started diving, and it's been in my BC pocket for 140 dives. It hasn't leaked yet. It still flashes when I test it.
It's too bright for a buddy marker, and not really bright enough as an emergency beacon. It's small enough to bring on every dive. I suppose it'd be useful if I was separated from my boat on a night dive, but a regular flashlight would also work.
I could recommend it to a friend who wanted a very compact, budget strobe. Princeton Tec's service department is great! (I've had some of their other lights leak, but they were replaced free of charge.

Worthwhile in low visibility conditions. I've found it best to use for keeping track of your dive partner, especially if they tend to wander. Just cinch over your dive partners 1st stage and you'll never lose site of him. Nice bonus to the princeton package.
