Brand: Princeton Tec
Located in: Add-On Gear, Lights
Perfect for those who won't settle for anything less than the best. The Adventure Pack includes Princeton Tec's most popular primary light the Shockwave II, the new innovative Impact XL LED light and a Sea Star personal locator light. Also included are two pieces of Princeton Tec Gadget Gear, a Coil Lanyard and Mini Retractor, both are perfect to keep your lights and other dive accessories attached to your BC when not in use.

Shockwave II
Power up from 7.5-watts to 15-watts of power with the flip of a switch. The Shockwave II was designed with the ever-changing light output requirements of diving in mind and offers divers the flexibility of choosing the required amount of light for every aspect of their dives.

The economical 7.5-watt output mode burns for up to 10 hours and provides plenty of light for most diving conditions. For those really dark nights, wreck diving, and looking into deep, dark crevices, simply flip the switch to the screaming bright 15-watt output mode.

All this is possible because of Princeton Tec's innovative dual filament multi-output bulb system that eliminates the need for two bulbs and performing the complex task of switching to an alternate bulb filament in the event the filament in use burns out.

The extreme versatility and reliability of the Shockwave II is sure to satisfy your every need and it will be there when you need it most

Sea Star
The Sea Star is a must for all night and low-visibility dives; it is Princeton Tec's newest 360-degree personal locator light. It offers the highest power-to-weight ratio of any light in its class. The Sea Star comes complete with alkaline batteries.

IMPACT XL
The Impact XL is the finest 4 "AA" cell L.E.D. light to ever grace the market. Weighing in at approximately 5 ounces and offering waterproof integrity to 100 meters, the IMPACT XL utilizes a 1-watt L.E.D., which is one of the most powerful L.E.D. sources in the world. The light output of the Impact XL is significantly greater than competing 1-watt xenon and halogen bulbs and it produces a truer, whiter light than many other L.E.D. and incandescent flashlights on the market. The innovative rubber over molded grip ensures that you'll be able to securely hold the light, even under the most demanding circumstances. With a bulb life rating of 10,000 hours (up to 70 hours of useful light) and its rugged impact-resistant design, the Impact XL is sure to be reliable when you need it.

The Shockwave II turned on exactly ONE time before the cheaply designed plastic light switch broke. Returned it to LP, still waiting on my refund..but I am now inclined to purchase a UK brand light instead.

Great pack
By cray from Australia on 8/21/2009
Pros:
Great LED intensity, High Intensity, Long battery life
Cons:
Battery labels incorrect
Best Uses:
Cave Diving, Close-Up Viewing, Night Diving, Video light
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, Adventure pack:

Great light pack.

NOTE: the battery labels on the Shockwave LED are installed incorrectly in the factory. If you install the batteries according to the label the light will NOT work. (will not break it luckily)
Mark the housing with the correct battery polarity/installation when you receive the light to reduce frustration when changing the batteries (not very often)
Note I use rechargeable NiMh C & AA cells and and they work great in the lights.
Be careful with the twist on/off as the 'Impact' had minor leak when I forgot I had it in BC pocket and was not screwed in enough after cleaning from last dive.
Use the Shockwave to light up in caves for basic video work and it is great.
The lock off slider on the shockwave snapped after little use but solid apart from that (battery life is so good don't have to turn the light off during the dive)

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, Adventure pack:

I used the Impact XL and Shockwave II in a low visibility dive last week. They both seem to be pretty powerful in terms of light intensity. For its price, it is a pretty good buy if you are not super high tech or professional in diving (I am not).

Three concerns though:
1. The shipped product (Impact XL) has the batteries installed incorrectly which caused the discharge of the batteries on the way. So I had to install new batteries. No big deal, but kind of annoying.
2. People have commented on the poor design of the switch on Shockwave II. They might be right. The switch works, but it is made off of hard plastic which feels a bit fragile. So be easy on the switch and the lock.
3. I honestly didn't like the ON/OFF mechanism on Impact XL. You got to rotate the head of the flashlight.

I purchased this package for my dive center for the students for Wreck and Night Dives training. Excellent Package which include Pistol primary light the Shockwave II, personal locator Back up light and LED Back light. The package also include a Coil Lanyard, Mini Retractor. All what a diver needs in one price wise package. Excellent for dive centers. The only con I notice is the needs for extra bulb instead of dual filament multi-output bulb system in the Pistol primary light the Shockwave II.

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, Adventure pack:

Good lights for the value but kind of meh. I did read the reviews about the switches breaking and can see how it would happen. My lights do not get used too much but the switches are cheap and not designed for ease of use. Still a product that is worth it due to the quantity of the package and the lights are very bright and useful. Plus LP threw in a free light to boot (deal sealer for me). Totally worth it for the rec diver on a budget. I would pay a little more if I were using them every dive but these lights are nothing to write home about.

Comments about Princeton Tec Princeton Tec, Adventure pack:

The primary light (shockwave II) never made it to the second dive before it,s internal plastic switch mechanism shattered. I have sent it back and hope that they send me an upgraded unit because the switch mechanism looks weak/suspect and will probably fail again. The rest of the stuff seems to work OK. If I had to do it over again I would get the lighter 3 led light.
