We use this tool on every dive we do to a deep canyon or a wall or other location where it might be difficult to find the anchor and returning to the ascent line is a must. We attached the strobe to a reel permanently. At the beginning of the dive, we attach the reel to the anchor and spool out the line until we have a target return point. For example 70 fsw on a wall. We do our dive and safely return to the strobe which can be seen in reduced visibility from almost any position (but we know the target depth). We can now safely return to our ascent line.
A must for safety minded diving.
