Aqua-Star 3 Led Torch Flashlight is a high intensity that has an incredibly long burn-time. This flashlight is practically indestructible and maintenance free. The rugged military style casing makes the flashlight is really as tough as it looks. The electronics of this flashlight also includes a constant current control circuitry that maintains the LED's brightness output throughout the entire life of the battery. Furthermore, it uses standard AAA-sized batteries to maximize convenience while minimizing operating costs. Double O-ring seals protect this twist on/off light down to 330 feet and it comes complete with batteries and lanyard.

while under water the aluminum is to slippery.
A rubber ring on the front of the front of light would make it easer to turn.
Also this would protect the front of the light
From damage.

had the same issue as previous reviewer bobos. the contact inside broke after having it for over a year. mind you, 2 dive trips with only a few night dives, so its hard to say it broke from being heavily used. at that point, beyond warranty. tried to contact aquastar via email (couldnt find phone number) but never heard back from them. ended up having to throw it away as it was rendered useless and i couldnt rig a fix myself. turned out to be quite the expensive 'disposable' torch.

although i liked it when it functioned, and it felt solid and strong, it proved otherwise with simple plastic pieces inside that were too easily broken. (still not sure how it broke.) I'd be skeptical to buy aquastar products again.

excellent in all features ..but there is a weak point ..the contactor part w the battery compartment breaks when totally twisted head and a bang or so happens..the inside connection between contactor and battery breaks into 2 parts ..non reparable but warranty changes the whole light ...

I was recently on a liveaboard in Indonesia where these lights were used as rentals. I liked them so much I bought one as soon as I got back.

Very solid construction. Sleek and comfortable to hold. Nice tight, bright beam and good battery life. Perfect for a daytime light and bright enough for a primary on night dives, or a superb backup.

The only thing I don't like is that it uses 6 AAA batteries; most chargers for rechargeable batteries only handle 4 at a time, so 6 is inconvenient.

This is a very useful 3 watt LED torch that takes 6 AAA batteries,it has a solid feel to it and is made of milled aluminum. It is 16cm long and 3.5cm wide, it is very bright and compact with a solid narrow beam. Batteries last a long time and do not fade slowly. It is an excellent day torch for looking into holes and caves. I have also used this as a primary light on several night dives without changing the batteries!

I wonder if Alexmar, another reviewer, reviewed the correct light. The light is turned on by a twist, not a switch, and the twist on-off is protected by double O-rings.
