Comments about Aqua Glo-Toob FX Lightstick:
I bought two of these and one flooded with the first dive. And, as sea water and batteries don't mix, I had quite a mess. I removed the now destroyed battery and cleaned the Glo-toob. I sank it in the fresh water camera tank to try to figure out the problem. Again there was water in the tube but there was no water around the o-ring. However, there was water on the battery contact in the lid. It appears that the leak is around the twist-turn on/off mechanism. (The other Glo-toob eventually had the same problem.) I really can't recommend the Glo-toob since it is too costly to take a chance that it will flood so quickly.

Nice: small and pretty durable
Comments about Aqua Glo-Toob FX Lightstick:
Great marker light offering different lighting and flash modes, though a bit difficult to change modes. Certainly worth the money and an excellent marker light for low viz diving.

Comments about Aqua Glo-Toob FX Lightstick:
Great little gadget that will save some money on glow sticks if you're doing a lot of deep, night or cave diving.
I've purchased the green one after being told it produces the most visible, intense light. At 110' depth in a midwestern quarry, low visibility conditions and almost no ambient light, my buddy had no problem verifying my position each time he checked. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 due to price, which is a bit high for such a gadget...but then again my compliments, as an engineer, to whoever came up with this idea.

Comments about Aqua Glo-Toob FX Lightstick:
I have not tried this in the water yet but so far it looks good. The various settings (i have it set to fade on and off so it won't be too distracting) are great.
To note - the picture makes it look like this thing is big (at least I thought it was). It is actually about 2 inches long - which is great for a tank light. The "key-chain" ring is also too small for my 1st stageso I swapped that out for a slightly larger one (1.5 inch diameter).
This is now connected to my 1st stage.

Comments about Aqua Glo-Toob FX Lightstick:
I dive with two of these clipped to my tank valve strap at night, one green and one blue, each set to pulse in intensity. My dive buddies tease me about being "The underwater Christmas Tree" but they always know where and who I am.
As far as it being difficult to change between the 7 patterns...if you can't figure out how to program a VCR, you won't be able to figure out this gadget either. If you can master a VCR w/o having to read the manual each time, you can master the setting on the Glo-Toob w/o too much difficulty.
My only complaint is that it doesn't come with a strap to clip it on to my BC. I just use a new nylon zip tie each time.

Comments about Aqua Glo-Toob FX Lightstick:
This tank light is wonderful! It doesn't seem very bright...until you get in the water. I've asked for feedback with everyone I've dove with and everyone says they can see me very well with this light. I purchased the blue. I like the fact that if someone else is diving with me that has a blue light as well I can make mine flash or strobe so others can tell us apart. My only problem is that it did not come with a strap to attach it to my tank, so I'm still looking for one that will work well.

Have been using this light in low visibility water, and it has been great for keeping track of each other. Very visible and bright. The various light effects are nice too. Love the compact size.

Very small compact unit, great for buddies at night when diving with a group.

Comments about Aqua Glo-Toob FX Lightstick:
These things are GREAT.
They come in different colors, and the new version has several settings, from varying-intensity glow to multiple flash patterns. They're much brighter than a glow stick, and not affected by normal temperature variations (glow sticks get dimmer with colder water temps). They're more waterproof than most submarines (to something like 3500 meters!), and are practically bulletproof. They are possibly the perfect safety/backup light, being smaller, lighter and cheaper than a strobe (but not as bright).
However, some negatives are worth noting: Glow sticks don't need batteries; Glo-Toobs do. Glow sticks float; Glo-Toobs sink - fast. Like a glow stick, Glo-Toobs don't focus, they radiate, and in a single, cool color, not full-spectrum light. Also, of course, a Glo-Toob costs a lot more than a glow stick ... but less than a bunch of glow sticks.
Most importantly, glow sticks have no moving parts - just snap, shake and glow; Glo-Toobs have a complex rotary switch to control the multiple modes. You'll easily be able to turn it on or off while diving, but without a lot of practice, most people will have to get back to the boat (and the instruction card) to change modes.
Overall, these are a fine investment for anybody with demanding or critical underwater lighting or marking needs, and they're *especially* good for any diver's safety/rescue package.

Not only can you get different colors but you can identify someone by specific strobe setting.

This thing glows and glows and glows - an ideal thing to have for a night dive. I managed to flood my first one and immediately bought a second.

Comments about Aqua Glo-Toob FX Lightstick:
I love my glo-toob. First, I will admit, I got water inside mine too after a year or so of diving. (BUT KEEP READING, 'cause they now have a better cap.) I simply cleaned off the corrosion and it worked fine again. However, like a dummy, I lost the o-ring when cleaning. So naturally it leaked again. This time I emailed customer service; they had me send it in for inspection and possible replacement (at no charge).
They simply gave it a cleaning, replaced the cap, and again it works like new! I was amazed.
PLUS they gave me (at no charge) an accesory pack that includes a SOLID SCUBA CAP that FIXES the issue (leaking through on/off mechanism in cap). Basically it is a solid cap that when fully screwed on also turns on the light.
MAKE SURE TO GET ONE OF THESE SCUBA caps before you go diving and you're good to go...well as long as the o-ring is in place! ;)
Comments about Aqua Glo-Toob FX Lightstick:
The on/off mechanism is of poor design. My first glo toob failed to turn on after approx. 3 dives, and was exchanged for a new one under warranty. My second failed to operate again, and that's when I realized that if I cleaned the contacts of the switch before a dive, it would work again. I used the light for about a year on maybe 25 dives, and finally the switch corroded so badly that it seized to the point where it couldn't be turned in either direction and then broke off when I tried to turn it with a pair of pliers. Lasts longer than a glow stick, but I will be moving on to another product. Aquatec or something, for my tank light.

Comments about Aqua Glo-Toob FX Lightstick:
The Glo-Toob FX Lightstick is one thing I never forget when I go on a night dive. They are brighter than most chemical light sticks and last way longer. I have used it for about 3 hours total now and it is still as bright as the first time I turned it on. The different settings on the light are great! I usually use the full power solid setting, but the strobe and beacon settings are also nice on night dives. The only thing that I didn't particularly like about the glo-toobe is the confusing method of changing the different effects when I first tried it out, but after I got used to everything it has worked great.
