owned one before but both plastic locks eventually broke after 11 years and about 600 dives later which led to losing the knife underwater. still love the product though

Great knife, very sharp, never will rust, but they used 5 horrible screws in the sheath that started to rust on day one even after rinsing it well. I replaced them at ace hardware with stainless screws for 12 cents each. Much better screws. Too bad they did not spend the few cents to make it right in the first place. Again Knife itself is great!

To be honest, I haven't taken it diving yet. But at receiving the knife, the double locking sheath seems fail proof and and that was one of the things that I was most interested in. The way the secondary lock slides over and how the main lock pushes away seem very well designed. I don't think that a person would ever loose it with the main lock but definitely not with the secondary lock. The knife was also very sharp right out of the box.

The knife is one sided, has a partial serrated edge and partial straight edge. I have the tanto point. I have used mine on five different trips. The blade is sharp and not a spot of rust. The sheath is held together with small screws and guess what? The engineers making a dive knife use regular steel screws. This means when your dive trip is over, corrosion begins on the red locking device screw and on the back of the sheath. I had to disassemble the red lock because it froze closed. I removed all the screws, cleaned them up and treated them with silicon. Divers should NOT have to take so much time for a knife sheath. I recommend the knife, but not the sheath. Salt water is worse and corrosion starts faster. Good luck.

Nice knife, returned for point tip version. Only one side has edge thus
combined cutting edges on same side and not length of blade.
Nice mechanism to secure blade.

I personally would recommend this product to anyone who is interested in diving while maintaining saftey. I bought as a birthday present for my dad but since he just got back surgery i have been using it and it works great. He was excited and amazed at the quality of the knife. It has a nice thick and strong blade and comes in handy when prying things but you should be careful becuase it could snap the tip off. Titanium as maleable and you should require proper care. I clean both of my knives after each dive and oil them accordingly. It is very safe and easy to get out but wouldn't recommend it in tight situations. I carry a knife that is much easier to extract. There is so much i can say about this beauty but i'll just leave it up to you for the final decesion. Oh and by the way the rubber straps that it brings work just fine for me! Good Luck! =D
