The strap buckles loosen off during the dive, they could hold better.

I bought this as a gift for my son (he's the rec diver), & the first one I received had a small defect. [...]While not a diver, I am a knife guy, & this unit looks to be top notch for the application.Excellent product [...]

This is a great overall knife! I carry it with me on every dive whether I am spearfishing or pleasure diving. I have had it for a year and have logged approx. 50 dives with it, not a spec of rust! Just rinse with water and let dry. I liked the knife enough to buy my dive buddy the exact same one! The slim profile does not allow the knife to become snagged. I use the knife for many use topside as well i.e. bottle opener! I would recommend this knife to any diver.

This is a REALLY great knife at a super price.
No matter if you're wearing gloves or not, it's easy to disengage this knife from the sheath with one hand. LOVE IT! Thanks Leisurepro!

Both serrated and conventional sides cut ropes (nylon, polyprop, sisal, 3/4") in half the strokes needed with my IST K01 titanium. Also ridiculised my Coltri-sub Pacific Shears (in knife mode). Only the shears in cisor mode cut faster than the Big Squeeze. As for small knives, my test says they're not the kind of backup I want when I need backup...
Also the best holster I tried or can think of.
Faster than light!

This knife is top-of-the-line in every way. From the well-designed titanium blade to the low-profile handle and the simple, intuitive, safe and secure sheath lock, you just can't find anything better.
There are a few things not everyone will like, though: First, it ain't cheap. Second, to keep the small size, the fingerguard is minimal, increasing the risk of slipping towards the blade. For the same reason, the grip is flat and relatively smooth, not chunky and grippy like a larger knife. The military-looking gray blade is non-reflective, and thus hard to find if dropped. Ditto, it won't flash like a mirror either. And last, if you're looking for a 'Warlord of the Deep' short sword, this knife will be *much* too small and light for your tastes.
Overall, if this isn't the dive knife for you, you should be (or already are) using specialized underwater tools, not this near-perfect general-purpose knife.
