The General Electric M61A1 Vulcan is a 6-barrel 20mm cannon of the gatling-type. It fires standard M50 ammunition at 6,000 rounds per minute and is integral partof the armament of modern fighters such as the F-15, F-18 and of course the F-16.

The SOG Vulcan is also formidable with a powerful strength of construction. There is nothing weak about the Vulcan. Take for instance the patented Arc-Lock. Or, the full steel liners encased in glass reinforced Zytel handles. The blade is a full .160" thick with spear point shape and includes the new kick deployment of the blade. Press on the back of the blade and the knife comes out fast. Reversible clip, Arc-Lock, and double thumb studs make for complete ambidextroususe.

Comments about SOG SOG Vulcan Folding Knife VL-01:

I wouldn't use it for diving, blade will show some rust in sea water. But superb for personal defence and/or everyday carry. I use it on my Sam Browne Police belt, for auxiliary defence and for emergencies such as seat belt cutting, etc. SOG is one of the best folding knife designers for specific purposes, and this knife is made in Japan, in the City of Seki, known for their quality knife blades for several hundreds of years, in service of the Samurai Lords. This blade is a hard steel center, with softer stainless steel on each side, fused together so that the blade can take a long lasting edge.
