The SEAL's are one of the most specialized elite military groups in the world today. SEAL's must undergo one of the most rigorous training programs devised to produce the consummate warrior. Only a select few endure and earn the right to wear the SEAL Trident on their uniform.

The SEAL Team knife, formerly known as the SEAL Knife 2000, evaluation program included: tip breaking stress, blade breaking limit, sharpness, edge retention, handle twist off force, two week salt water immersion tests, gasoline and acetylene torch resistance, chopping, hammering, prying, penetration tests, cutting six different types of rope and line, plus an intense hands-on competition in the field.

Comments about SOG SOG Seal Team Fixed Blade Knife with Kydex Sheath S37-K:

This is a great quality knife for people who abuse knives like I do. It comes razor sharp out of the box. The finish is extremely durable. My big hands grip the handle well, even when cold and wet. I broke 1/8" off the tip when I twisted it in some bone, but I was able to grind a tip without any noticeable change in the temper of the blade. The knife is heavy and balanced very well. It reminds me of the knives that were made from old files and rasps by farriers and blacksmiths. I do not think this would be a great BC knife because of the size and weight. It is a great dive knife on your hip or thigh, though. The downside of the knife is the sheath. Granted, I have had the knife for a few (10) years, but the snaps and grommets wore out pretty quick. The newer sheaths may have fixed the problem, though. I would give it 4.7 flags if I could, but with the sheath issues, I can't honestly give it 5 flags.
