i bought and love this knife and the only big complaint i have seen is the sheath but consider this if you are in a panic and need your knife out and are not concentrating on how to get it out with the release and you break the sheath but live to complain about it wouldn't that be a good thing

Really nice knife. Amazingly sharp on all edges. . The case is ok but it seems kind of cheap, the locking system seems good so far. The quick release leg straps also do not feel sturdy. I would recommend the neoprene leg strap also offered by this site.

Great Knife, Stays sharp and won't corrode. Only draw back is handle will sun rot after about 5 yrs of heavy use. No problem though. knife is full tang so just make another handle out of hardwood and varnish it. Knife looks nicer that way any how. Sheath holds knife well but is easy access when needed.

This knife is OK with all the pros of a Titanium Knife. it locks well as well.
But the quality of the plastic parts looks cheap and easy to break. I have not break it yet, but it just doesn't look like a premium quality one. This is my first knife so I guess there might be better choices around.

I have only had a chance to dive with this knife 3 times. I have gone into the salt water 2 of the 3 dives and the knife has not shown any ill effects from the salt water. I have found that it has been easy to handle (with 5m gloves on) and has given me more confidence just knowing I have a sharp knife if needed. Overall I am very satified I got a great price and a great knife!

Great Knife easy release very sharp and Titanium wont rust so you can't beat that. The grip is good and even with a 5mm glove it's still comfortable in your hand and taking it out of the sheath is pretty easy.

pretty good knife. a tiny bit bigger (but lighter) than i expected. fits my calf nicely but too big for forearm or BCD. Titanium is lighter than steel, this is good. it's pretty sharp. i use it to kill stuff when i go spearfishing. it's good for that. would probably get a smaller knife for SCUBA as i've never actually needed a knife for SCUBA. this is perfect for a spearfishing leg-knife. i do like the bands and buckles and fastener. the holster lock works very well. no looseness or loss of knife. only bad thing is the handle holds a little water and it doesn't dismantle for cleaning or drying. i've been shaking as much water out as i can but it doesn't completely dry for a day or two. but it still doesn't rust at all, so it's OK.

This is a wonderful knife, in the past I have used knives that end up rusted by the time you get back to your car. This knife stays sharp, and doesn't rust at all (which is good since for the life of me I can not take it apart). HOWEVER, during a paticularly rough beach entry (monastary beach for all you Montery divers), the case snapped in half while still strapped to my leg. See the attached pic with my crude repairs.

Sheeth could be sturdier
Describe Yourself:
Recreational Diver
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
It's a good knife. The blade came to me very sharp, no need to sharpen it. The blade is 5" long and the handle is big enough and wide enough to use with 5mm. gloves comfortably. My only dilema was the sheeth and straps it came with. The sheeth is not as sturdy as the knife and straps are flimsy. I ended up buying different straps and I suggest you do the same. Unless you're playing with it all day (like taking the knife in and out of its sheeth) the sheeth should last a long time as well. It's just plastic so meh, not that great. But one has to remember there really should be only 3 times when you take it out anyway...pre-dive inspection, emergency in a dive, and post-dive cleaning/inspection. The moment I got it I was already cutting stuff up around the house :D...the shipping box it came in never had a chance. I also tested it on fishing line. As long as you have a good grip on line and knife, the knife will cut it.

This is a well-made, solidly-constructed knife with an excellent blade. It has a release mechanism that is easy to use (did not try with gloved hands however). It should be impervious to rust. I like the fact that the knife handle has a hole so you can use a lanyard for your wrist--- seems like a lot of knives lack this feature. The Blue Reef is good value for the money in my opinion.

I haven't used this knife at all yet. Haven't got caught in line or used it to slay a large fish during spearfishing, yet... But as far as salt water durability - it's excellent. I've had it with me on a lot of dives and the metal shows no sign of chemical reaction to salt water. Titanium is the way to go with dive knives. It's also got a nice grip to it, the blade is sharp, and it's also varied (smooth edge on one part, ridged in another, and also has an indented tooth for snagging and slicing lines). Good size too.
Bottom line: great product for a low price = EXCELLENT value.

I've tested 10 or so knives and this is the best knife I've used so far. Perfect size for a large dive knife. Blade is razor sharp and holds its edge well. The grip is hand & glove friendly. Hard plastic sheath has a positive locking mechanism that is easy to use with both bare & gloved hands. Titanium materials make this knife ultra lite, extra strong and virtually maintenance free. Even though you may never need to, disassembly for service and cleaning is easy and does not require tools. Until I find something better, this could be the perfect knife.

I use this knife mainly for spearfishing. Its large handle makes it easy to grip when wearing gloves. I have taken it into saltwater numerous times and it has yet to rust or lose its edge. Be careful though this knife is extremely sharp and it is very easy to cut yourself with if not careful.
