I bought this here on LP less than 2 years ago. I have about 100 dives on, so figure about 50 boat trips. The first thing that broke was the zipper. It just sort of jammed about 1/3 of the way down. Then the zipper started to unzip below it! Since I was on a trip to the keys I had to do emergency repair. Crazy glued the slider where it was jammed and below it to hold zipper together.
Finally that gave way as the slider finally just broke off. Naturally while on a drive trip. Punched holes on the material on both sides of the zipper and zip tied it shut.
Shoulder straps starting to come off.....
I paid extra on LP when I purchased this because of the Stahlsac name. Never again.

Perfect for getting all your equipment to and from the dive site. It carries both my wife and I's bc's, wetsuits, regs and anything else I can haul. I can get heavy but it all depends on what you put in. Great bag I recommend to anyone looking for a large gear bag.
Comments about Stahlsac Stahlsac WD16 Bonaire Deluxe Mesh Dry Backpack:
This bag is perfect. Easy to load and unload (full length zipper on the side), easy to carry (backpack straps, handle on top, handle on the side), drains well (drain holes in the bottom), large capacity (BC, regulators, fins, mask, boots, 3mm and 5mm suits). A must have.

I decided to streamline my boat gear for Caribbean diving. I now wear my Skin to the boat and carry my BC like a back-pack. I needed a smaller bag for everything else and this bag fits the bill. It's sturdy and holds my change of clothes in a dry bag, fins, mask, camera. etc. It has a dry pouch for my keys and wallet and it packs small and light for airline travel. I can also use it for a beach back-pack.

this is a very large bag, it fits all my equipment and then some. Zipper on the side top to bottom makes it easy to access items at the bottom. I have the WD14 Stahlsac also, would definitely recommend the bigger WD16 bag.[...]

I purchase it to easily carried my OMER Shardana with all other equipment when going to snorkeling or diving from shore.
Comments about Stahlsac Stahlsac WD16 Bonaire Deluxe Mesh Dry Backpack:
Great size- holds everything, BC, 5mm suit, fins, reg, mask, spare parts in the pocket(also good for keys and glasses & anti-fog. Full length waterproof storage- if you go on dive boats, you'll really appreciate this. Mesh helps your gear air dry, and the straps are comfortable to haul everything at one time. And the price- don't pass this one up. I need to order one for my other half!
Comments about Stahlsac Stahlsac WD16 Bonaire Deluxe Mesh Dry Backpack:
The durability and size are excellent features of this bag, but I find the best feature to be the variety of pockets. The standard compartment (large), dry bag along the length of the bag and the small pocket in the front provide flexible functionality to stow your gear. I like this bag enough that I bought one for my girlfriend as well. We are both very satisfied with its performance. Nice product from Stahlsac.

I just used this on a two week cruise that I did 14 dives. It held all my equipment and was easy to get on and off the ship. Strong, durable, nice looking and easy to pack up. I was easily able to carry it on my back even after diving and equipment was a little wet.

Comments about Stahlsac Stahlsac WD16 Bonaire Deluxe Mesh Dry Backpack:
This bag is way too large to be practical as a boat bag. With just one persons gear it looks funny and is difficult to handle because it hangs down so far. You could easily put two divers' gear in this bag but then it would be uncomfortably heavy. Rolled up it takes up a lot of space in your luggage. Also it has no side zipper. Do not buy. There are better alternatives!
Comments about Stahlsac Stahlsac WD16 Bonaire Deluxe Mesh Dry Backpack:
I compaired this to the Akona and found this to be the better bag. This has both the waterproof pocket that protects your back from getting wet and a full zipper on the side to help reach lower items.

large bag that will hold a complete set of gear. Down side is that it does not pack easy into luggage for plane travel.

I have been sport diving since 1972. I wish I had this bag on the days I had to carrying a lot of equipment. Thanks to recomendations of others divers they were right on target.
This bag is great. Now I can carry all the gear for myself and my wife at one time and make one trip. Good design! I had the old duffle bag on wheels and the wheels would just get stuck from the weight or fall off.

This bag held all gear except BCDs for two divers and worked great. The dry storeage did not leak.

Comments about Stahlsac Stahlsac WD16 Bonaire Deluxe Mesh Dry Backpack:
Looked at many boat bags and this was by far the best I found. Has a large dry pocket in the back and is big enough to hold a full kit with extra room for miscellaneous items. Padded and adjustable straps makes this backpack comfortable and easy to carry.

I compared the Stahlsac Bonaire Boat Bag to many other products on the market and selected this product for the large carrying capacity, huge dry bag and back-pack straps. It easily collapses and can be stowed for travel. I bought one for myself and one for my wife.

Comments about Stahlsac Stahlsac WD16 Bonaire Deluxe Mesh Dry Backpack:
This is just a great find! Get yours before the price goes up because I cant find anything wrong with it! It is large enough for two sets (mine and my wife's) of scuba gear, PLUS it has a dry storage compartment inside the bag big enough for t-shirts and a couple of towels. The best thing (from the guy who has to schlep the gear) is the really comfortable straps, just throw the gear on your back, it's comfortable and you have both hands free.

Great piece of gear for tropical vacation trips.

The Bags are very convenient for carrying all of your dive gear. Easy to handle and carry everything you need for your dive.
Comments about Stahlsac Stahlsac WD16 Bonaire Deluxe Mesh Dry Backpack:
I love this bag! It's big enough for all my gear + a large beach towel. The dry pocket really does keep everything dry! The only drawback is that it opens from the top, and it's quite deep. It would be better to have a zipper down the side so getting at the things at the bottom would be easier.
Comments about Stahlsac Stahlsac WD16 Bonaire Deluxe Mesh Dry Backpack:
Integrated drybag makes it the only bag you need on the dive boat.
Comments about Stahlsac Stahlsac WD16 Bonaire Deluxe Mesh Dry Backpack:
Just what we were looking for.
Comments about Stahlsac Stahlsac WD16 Bonaire Deluxe Mesh Dry Backpack:
I really like this bag. Super large capacity -- I can get ALL my diving gear in in, including wetsuit, fins, BC, etc. with lots of room to spare. The dry bag pocket could be a bit larger and should open to the outside of the bag, rather than the interior, but that's a minor complaint. Very rugged. I'd buy it again.
Comments about Stahlsac Stahlsac WD16 Bonaire Deluxe Mesh Dry Backpack:
This is a great backpack for a crowded dive boat, especially if you don't mind not having wheels on the bottom. It takes up less space than other bags I've had and is surprisingly light weight when empty (a big plus when considering airline baggage restrictions). It's very well constructed and holds all my gear.
Comments about Stahlsac Stahlsac WD16 Bonaire Deluxe Mesh Dry Backpack:
This bag is much bigger than it looks in the photo. It can easily hold the enough scuba gear for two people including wet suits. That's a lot of weight to handle in one bag.
With one person's gear it is loose and floppy. It also takes up a lot of room in your suitcase.
Far better are the simple zippered mesh gear bags.
Comments about Stahlsac Stahlsac WD16 Bonaire Deluxe Mesh Dry Backpack:
Very good allround boat bag. It's nice to keep a few things dry while you dive like a towel and shorts. You can't mis.
My dive buddy

Comments about Stahlsac Stahlsac WD16 Bonaire Deluxe Mesh Dry Backpack:
Excellent bag. Big and tough. I really like the built in dry sack for towels, shirts wallets etc. However, the opening to the internal dry sack is a bit narrow and of course anything you put in there robs space from the main sack area. Overall though, a really excellent bag. I looked at quite a few before buying this one and am very happy with it
Comments about Stahlsac Stahlsac WD16 Bonaire Deluxe Mesh Dry Backpack:
One of the best SCUBA gear bags ever made. its best for gear taken on dive sites, but not for airline use.
Durable as heck, I have over 1000+ dives on one smaller Panama version, and it has held up well. I leave all my gear in it, sans regs, and dunk the bag and gear into large tanks, pulling it out after a long soak. I can hike or bike many miles with this bag on my back. Many bags have ripped from the weight of water and gear, not this bag. Over time, the net mesh has broken in parts yet doesn't unravel and is easily repaired with some nylon line and stitching. The mesh allows the gear to breath, so one can even leave all gear in it to dry, to some extent. Its only downside is the design is really just a sack with straps, so it take some effort to arrange gear to load it properly so as not to be imbalanced nor hurt your back ... but it can be done. The dry bag is not very useful if you dunk the bag, as the zipper will leak if you abuse the bag as I do.
Note, other bags in the stahlsac line have to build a reputation as this bag on their own merits: my buddy used a brand new large roller, and on its first trip the wheels popped off.
