Comments about Pinnacle Pinnacle Hybrid & Kangaroo Daypack:
I love this combo! I've used several bags in the past, and each time I "upgrade" I seem to be cutting down in size. This pair complement each other nicely, both have the laptop sleeve (I actually needed two at one time), and both can go on an aircraft with ya. The main bag is small enough to fit in the overhead easily enough and the Kangaroo backpack (not to be confused with Pinnacle's regular "daypack" backpack) fits under the seat. And who's not concerned with the latest flight restrictions on luggage eh?
I love having more than one carry option, cinch straps to adjust for the size of the current load, backpack straps. And the handle, while I seldom use that, is very handy at the opportune moment. You can use just the main bag, just the backpack, or they fit together for easy transport together!! I know I've had frustrations in the past with having to maneuver more than one bag/suitcase around, whether it's an airport or just going from point A to point B.
Just to clear up a point I noticed above in the description, contrary to the mention of the "Endeavor" bag this main bag is the HYBRID and not the Endeavor. The Endeavor is larger at 30" tall and this Hybrid is just tall enough at 20". This is especially convenient and helpful in the sometimes cramped quarters of a dive boat when 10+ people are all trying to get set up, rigged up, geared up! (keep in mind, you'll have to pack carefully if you have a lot of gear, or plan a longer stay somewhere, but for me this size is perfect.)
I use the Kangaroo backpack as my semi-dry bag I put up front of the boat or set/stored separate from the wet area and can leave the main Hybrid bag with my gear (wet area). I used a water shedding product on the back of the Kangaroo backpack so that when I use it and zip it back to my main Hybrid bag after a day of diving, it doesn't take on water (at least not quite so much). I might have added a couple more pockets to the main bag, but the companion backpack seems to solve the issue of bringing my spares kit, med drybag, towel, water, etc., that I don't pack into the main bag. (pack with your regs/DC/camera/etc that are a bit more fragile in mind, this is not a hardshell bag eh...)
All in all I'm happy with this product pairing (you can purchase either separately but for the price, why not get them together and save). So far they've held up well as far as durability goes, and while I take care of my gear, and gear-carrying gear, I don't coddle them all that much. They must be able to survive the rough and tumble lifestyle that goes with boat and shore diving, as well as packed trunks and/or backseats with other bags, tanks, chairs, etc.
