Nice bag. I don't like the zipper over the handle though. Mine got seperated while checked in and it took some pliers at home to fix it, meanwhile I didn't have a handle while traveling.
After the surgery it seemed fine. We'll see on the next trip.
It's working great for local diving, love it.
Perfect!! I love this bag, it has room pockets and fits all of my stuff with room to spare. Held up great through the Cancun airport's beating too!!
Took it to Roatan and fit all my gear plus some extras. Fully loaded it still came in under 50 lbs. The mesh bag was great to keep items in on the boat. The regulator bag was a nice extra and took it with my on the plane. Can't go wrong for the price.
Lots of room for scuba gear plus. Also easily meets the new strict size limitations for checked airline baggage.

Great scuba bag. Makes getting through the airport or to the dive boat easy. Seems durable, haven't had any problems yet(3 dive trips). With new airline weight restrictions, you will have to pack this bag carefully so you are not over weight! Would be nice if there was a dry compartment in the bag. The protective bag cover is useless, it rips easily and gets caught in everything. They should include a dry bag for dive logs, wallets, etc. instead of the cover.
Product is pretty sturdy, but does scuff easily. Also does not stand up on its own when packed. It does have easy to access front pockets and the detachable mesh bag and regulator bag are very handy. Overall a good buy.
I saw this bag in a dive shop but knew that I should take a look at leisurepro. It was $75 cheaper and I'm very satisfied. I've taken my gear and some of my husband's gear in it to Guam so far. Only item that's not perfect is the front top zipper likes to stick a little. Luckily, the compartments open up from the inside as well! ;)
I've only had this bag one week, but I packed all my gear in it. ALL MY Gear... Oceanic Pro BCD, Vortex12 fins, dive boots, 3mm & 1 mm wet suits, Octo & regs, masks, dive lights, gloves, extra weights, odds n ends, & kitchen sink. It rolls really easy over rough ground so it should be a breeze in the airport. Good balance. Easy access through top zippers. Appears to well made. Time will tell.
Bought this for the wife. She thought it was just the right size for our dive trip to Cayman. With the new weight restrictions on the airlines, it was. We found it durable and the goods inside were easily acessible. I'm considering one for myself.
Prompt delivery and arrived in good condition.
big big pockets, has a place for everything. just wish it had pockets on the outside for fins, but it was big enough to fit everything in.
Have had it a year, been on 3 airline trips with it, and a few local boat dives. I seems to hold up to Philadelphia baggage handlers (The worst), United lost it back in November, but it turned up OK. It does have stability problems when really loaded, and My fins can't seem to find a comfortable spot w/o taking up a lot of room. I'd buy it again, and expect it to last awhile
Was perfect for my trip Kona, Ha. Worked well on the larger boat. I had a good experience with my bag.
Great bag! I was able to fit ALL of my gear into the bag for our trip to Mexico. I used this strictly for air tranportation, and used another bag for on the dive boat. This worked out great! This bag has nice reinforced holes in it so that your gear can "breathe" while you are traveling, instead of getting home and opening up a suitcase that reeks. Allows gear to dry.
I can fix all of my gear in it.
This bag is the perfect size for dive vacations. It hold everything and still easily meets the 50# airline weight limit.
The minor flaw is the cover for the bag as even though it has cutouts for the roller wheels, the cover easily gets caught in the wheels, drags and then shreds. It got so aggravating in the San Juan Airport I ripped it off and threw it in the trash. The only other minor flaw is the zipper binds at the midline where the cinch strap is sewed in. It can be a challenge when the bag is fully loaded. This may be a defect in my bag only as it appears if correctly sewed in, it wouldn't cause a problem.
Took this thing all over the place and beat the snot outta it. It's huge inside! The first dive bag I've owned that had extra room. Felt like I forgetting something. Nice big handles for throwing it around, big zippers, easy access. A nice big durable dive bag.
This is a great bag for traveling. the one pocket can hold 1 set of gear. With the restrictions on weight this works well
Lots of space and pockets. Only problems have been with the retractable handle not working. Have since removed it. After 2 trips one of the wheels screws had worked loose. The design does not provide easy access to the nut to retight.
I think this bag is well worth the money. It is very roomy and should hold all your dive gear plus spares.
Good bag for the price. The cover that comes with it for travel is pretty much useless as the wheels can't roll when it's on. The bag does not stay upright when completely full, however, if you manipulate all your weights in the bottom back of the bag and leave the front pockets empty, it will. I'm very happy with it and would recommend it. I use Akona whenever I get the chance.
I've have used this bag three times while traveling on airlines and once by car to my vacations. While it holds all of my dive gear very nicely, on this last trip the wheel bolts came loose, cocking the wheels and making it hard to roll. The bolts holding the wheels were two different types and the washers were worn right thru. We think we have fixed it but I'm not sure for how long. For the price, I would have expected a little more.
It looks like a very nice case, but believe it or not theres no room. When i bought this case i read that there was room to spare, but the only thing that rally fits is the mask, boots, and fins if you dont mind them being them squished
This is the perfect bag for getting your gear from home to the dive location. Holds everything I have in a neat, compact bag that meets airplane requirements. Its really rugged and definitely built to stand up to the torture that the airlines subject our stuff to. I would definitely buy this again.
durable
We purchased 2 of these bags for a snorkeling trip to Fiji, to hold all of our snorkeling gear (full size Akona Bio-fins), clothes, etc. It is easy to overload this bag because it holds so much. Which results in being charged for overweight luggage and makes it difficult to lift. Just weigh it once you get it packed!
Bought this bag for airline travel due to its minimalist exterior. Don't let that led you to think its short on capacity. Plenty of room for a week long trip - while staying under the airlines 50lb limit.
Strong zippers, durable fabrics and the unique design makes it easy to spot at baggage claim.

The Akona is plenty big enough for all your gear; fins, mask, BC, boots and wetsuit in the main compartment. The zippered compartments hold all your clothes and extras. The bag is heavy duty and can withstand airline travel as well as dive site abuse. My wife and I each have one.
Received as a Christmas gift from my partner, and was quite surprised cause we had been wanting our our bags after a recent trip to Hawaii, where we had to borrow a friends old gear bags. It is a great product and cant wait to see what else he gets me this year
Easy to use, with convenient access without having to unload all equipment. Handles easily for air travel.
Easy to roll, good for air travel. Has access to inside through front openings, which allows easy access to equipment without haveing to unload everything.
I purchased this bag based on a positive review in Scuba magazine. The 1st time I used it was on a 1 week trip to Bonair. It easily fit my wet suit, BC, fins, 2 masks, snorkle, some soft weights and most of my clothes. I was able to stay under 50lbs. and the overall size fits well within airline requirements. There is access from three zippers which made packing easy. The bag comes with a mesh accessory bag and regulator bag. There is also a weather proof cover that fits entirely over the bag which is awkward to use when rolling but is nice for storage. The Akona rolls nicely on large tough wheels and is very high quality. This bag appears to be bullet proof. The only problem was trying to identify the bag upon arrival in Bonair since about 25% of the arriving divers had the same bag.
Carries all my dive gear plus a tad more.
This bag turned out to be better than the reviews
that I had read prior to my purchase. It worked
great for myself and my wife. We packed all our
equipment into one bag. Including our wet suits.
We read the prior reviews and felt we needed one bag per person. We purchased 2 and now we have one for a spare.
