Hollis Scuba Gear

ABOUT HOLLIS - NO LIMIT

Hollis engineers superior technical diving equipment. We are intensely focused on providing diving solutions to fulfill our customer’s needs: owning the best technical diving products for their complex diving experiences. This philosophy comes from our founder and industry pioneer Bob Hollis—a man with no limits when it comes to technical diving. In the 1950s with diving still in its infancy, twenty-something-year-old Hollis pushed boundaries by building his own equipment to fuel his passion for the underwater. The ensuing decades saw Hollis innovate and disrupt—pioneering dives to the Andrea Doria—and develop reliable and dependable products that not only launched the technical diving industry but pushed the limits of tech diving into the adventure-seeking, curiosity-driven passion it’s revered as today. Our best-in-class authority and experience leads every stage of product development, serving both the tech diver and educating the rec diver towards a brand-new category of diving. From backplates, wings, harnesses and lighting systems, to sidemounts, rebreathers and instrumentation, we concept, engineer, test and test again to ensure we remain the leading global provider of all technical diving equipment. Divers around the world proudly bear the Hollis mark, committing their trust to the brand that challenges their limit.

KATANA 2

Designed in collaboration with Edd Sorenson from Cave Adventurers, we developed a unique new "Quick Fit System" which allows you to easily tailor the one-size-fits-all harness to your specific size or adjustment preference in a matter of minutes. We added more lift, more weight capacity, single and dual bladder options and the best quality materials Hollis has always been known for. Katana 2 is also the first sidemount harness in the world to be designed with closed-circuit sidemount capability, with integrated mounts for the popular KISS sidewinder. Katana 2 breaks away from traditional designs and offers more customization and versatility for the dedicated sidemount diver. However you plan to dive it, the Katana 2 is ready.

MEET HOLLIS AMBASSADOR: MAXWEL HOHN

An adventurer, photographer and filmmaker, Maxwel Hohn has a passion for documenting and exploring the underwater world. Maxwel has a unique skillset that allows him to dive into a variety of industries. He is a recreational, technical and commercial diving instructor with over 4000 dives. One week he could be squeezing into a river canyon filming salmon for a documentary, and the next week he could be travelling the coast of British Columbia collecting data for Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Technical and sidemount diving were the keystones that motivated Maxwel to expand his career and to venture into new depths. Mission orientated diving fueled his desire to work underwater which lead him into the commercial diving industry. He has gained experience in a variety of fields, including marine construction, underwater welding and environmental surveys. He is also a well-respected and published underwater photographer, certified drone pilot, and emerging filmmaking talent, all resulting in the successful launch of his company Salish Sky. Having lived and worked in the waters of the Bahamas, Greece, Norway, Vietnam and Tanzania, Maxwel now lives on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Taking advantage of seemingly endless coastline, rivers, lakes, canyons and abundance of stunning marine life captured in his images. From below the surface of BC’s cool, clear, current-swept waters, Maxwel uses Hollis gear to aid him in his ongoing quest to capture the most interesting perspectives of Canada’s westernmost province. Looking through his beautiful work - from cheeky sea lions to speedy salmon to emerald-tinged seascapes, you can easily see why he calls British Columbia home. Maxwel's goal is to utilize the Hollis Prism 2 Rebreather for underwater videography. With extended bottom time and a closed-circuit breathing loop (no bubbles), it is the ultimate tool to explore, and document the underwater world in more unique ways.
