Love this fin

By LazyLady

I needed a backup pair of fins, and in a co,our that I could use when swimming around sharks.

Bitter tears

By Sama

I sold mine to a friend and I've been kicking myself ever since. These are the most comfortable, most efficient fins I've owned. I have to buy another pair - that's all there is to it.

The Mares Volo scuba fin is a gigantic leap forward in fin technology. This fin is so revolutionary; it is covered by 8 different patents. The Volo uses Mares Optimized Pivoting Blade system (OPB); the Volo is 30% more efficient than traditional fins. The OPB allows the blade to maintain an optimal angle throughout the kicking cycle, whereas traditional fins achieve this only during a small portion of the cycle, OPB produces a constant thrust, which minimizes fatigue and produces fluid movement through the water. The Mares Volo also allows you to use alternate kick strokes not possible with splits fins.

The Volo Super-channel is designed for the diver who wants the perfect blend of power and efficiency in one fin. The new blade design with a large central Super-channel and two traditional lateral channels provide excellent thrust while maintaining hi-efficiency and minimizing leg fatigue. The blade is constructed of Tecralene and Thermoplastic rubber for extended durability.

The ergonomically designed foot pocket delivers maximum power and evenly distributes pressure over the foot to minimize fatigue. The foot pocket interior features internal ribbing that improves fit, eliminates foot suction and prevents foot pocket flexing, while transmitting more power to the blade.

Volo uses Mares patented design ABS Plus Buckles (Adjustable Binding System). It only takes one quick movement to easily open or close these buckles, even when wearing thick neoprene gloves. The double button release prevents the buckles from accidently opening making them the most user-friendly system on the market. Fin comes in multiple colors and sizes, has an overall length between 23.2" to 25.2" (59cm to 64cm) and weights 2.5 lbs. to 3.4 lbs. (1.13 kg to 1.53 kg) depending on size. Size 42/43 has a blade surface area of 108.5 cubic inches (700 cubic centimeters).

This product can only be shipped to U.S. addresses.

Questions about this item:

James O  Are these fins positively or negatively buoyant?
darrick c  Hello James, these would sink over time in the water column.
Ed H  volo power new abs strap- rubber disentegrates. is the new aBS a replacemement and where to buy ? gooey rubber strap if sit in 35 degC and hi humidity. approx 1500 small granules of rubber
KEVIN F  http://www.leisurepro.com/p-mrsfsap/mares-fin-strap-with-abs-plus-buckle-assembly-black
RALPH G  Is the Power Volo stiffer and better in strong current than the regular Volo?
KEN L  I somehow like the Power over the Regular. I have both and can't say it's stiffer, it's just engineered to tread more water. Hope that answers for you.
CARL H  YES
THOMAS D  Good question, since I purchased the Volo, I have no idea which is stiffer. why send such a question unless I purchased both types ???????
Leon D  I wear a size 10 pair of shoes .. however I wear a size 9 of Mares Classic Boot NG 5mm. What size should I chose when ordering the Mares Volo Powers? Also if I want to add the Mares Bungie straps what size of those should I chose?
MONTE S  regular on the fins, they work great!
J C L  I love my fins but the LeisurePro size chart listing 3 chooses does not give me enough information to answer your Question....try the manufactures site...
STERLING L  Leon, I wear size 9 booties and Volo Power fins size REGULAR. They go together just fine. I can't advise about the bungie strap size, altho I have "spring" straps from another source mounted on another pair of Volo Power fins. The brand and size aren't marked, but I'd guess they were size medium. I'd suggest holding off on the bungie straps, tho, because the current Volo heel straps are easy to release, adjust and lock. Try them first. II prefer them to my spring straps, which are hard to grasp and pull back when my fingers are cold. Benjamin
Leon D  Thanks for the feedback =)
YAN G  Should only stick out a few inches. Anything more, its too small. Anything less, its too big. There is fine line, and you really should try them on and see how they fit.
Leon D  Thanks for the response, when buying open heel fins. Can you tell me how many inches that your heel should stick out of the fins ?
YAN G  Best thing would be to try them on to find the right fit. We can recommend a regular size fin with a regular bungee strap. We do have the PFF guarantee, so you can exchange them if do not fit, as long as you did not put them in the water.
Leon D  Thanks for the response, when buying open heel fins. Can you tell me how many inches that your heal should stick out of the fins ?
BONY C  I am a size 8.5 in shoes, which I recommend buying in some shoes I am a size 9, the other question is between regular and small blade is the same size? thanks
LUIZFRANCISCO S  Go regular, I'm pretty sure u will be glad.
JOHN S  Suggest you buy larger. You can alway wear a sock or booty to fill a larger fin, but can't reduce your foot to accomadate a smaller fin
J C L  I have the same size foot... but EEE width...I bought reg...which work fine there is alot of adjustment in the strap..
MICHELE H  I wear an 8 to 8 1/2 shoe and purchased a small in the fins, actually have two pairs, love them, the fin blade seems the same in all sizes only the foot pocket differs. the foot pocket is gererous in size and I wear a hard sole bootie
SCOTT B  Since you apparently are interested in the open heel fins, that would mean you dive with booties which add some dimension to your foot, depending on their thickness. I would recommend going for the larger size, i.e. medium. You can always tighten down the straps on the medium (which come on the open heel, as opposed to the closed heel) as opposed to trying to stretch a too-tight small. However, if you still are not sure, why don't you visit a scuba shop and try some on. You are not obligated to buy. Fyi, I wear a 10.5 to 11 size and purchased the large fin as opposed to the medium.
MIYUKI S  The Blade is 37cm in all sizes. If the boot you use is a size 9 has a thick sole (or you would like the option for a thick soled boot) I would recommend the regular. If you will only use thin sole boots then the smalls will fit. Overall the regular will give you the most options for a good fit.
ANTHONY Z  I have the exact same problem as you with the shoe size, I got the regular & I love them very easy to put on & take off especially if you are tank diving.
SERGEI M  Sorry, can not hep you on sizing. I am getting XL for size 12-13, it works OK. As far as I can tell, the blade length is the same for all sizes.
RUSS H  great
