Questions about this item:
Shopper Why Did You Choose This?
JAN B I have a Zeagle and have been very pleased so for my daughter scuba buddy this I bought for her.
Shopper Does this BCD have a rigid back plate?
KATHY W Not rigid, really. Substantial and study, but not rigid. The backplate is not hard plastic or metal. You can fold it somewhat to get it into a suitcase.
PAULA L There is no backplate. However, there is nice padding on the inside of the area where the air tank is attached.
CHRIS P No rigid backplate excellent for traveling
Katherine L There is no rigid plastic back plate, just padded denier fabric.
J W W Ho it does not have solid back plate,
other wise very comfortable
Marilyn S No this does not have a rigid back plate.
JONATHAN D Nope, this bcd has a soft back.
Shopper Hi I'm 5'9 around 140-145 lbs, with a 28 in waist and 38 in bust (larger chested but small waist). I am having trouble deciding between a small and medium. Is there enough room in the chest that I should be ok with a small or just go for the medium?
SHERI K I am 5'6 and 120lbs with a 36" bust and 26 waist I got the small zena and even in my wet suit the adjustments are almost all tighened up.I might order an x-small corset. I would think that you would be very happy with the size small. there is a huge amount of adjustment to them.
CHLOE M I am about the same weight and waist measurement and the small fits perfectly. The three adjustable straps allow to give more room around the chest if needed. The straps loosen quit a bit, adjustable from each side that gives a few inches.
HARLAN W Hi, my husband bought this BC for me recently and I dove with it on our last 2 trips. I am 5'8" and about 170 lbs. I bought the Medium, and I am usually a medium to large in tops. The waist is very adjustable to smaller or thicker waists and you shouldn't have any problem with room in the bust. I am also a 38 and it's cut for women so there's room there as well.
I would say buy whatever size you normally would. You are smaller than I am so I would suggest the small.
Hope that helps you.
Donna G It is adjustable. I got the small and also have a 38 inch bust. It is snug, especially when I wear my 3 ml instead of a skin. I usually only wear a thermoskin. I absolutely love it because it is easy to get on and off and adjusts to your body. Hope this is helpful,
ELENA RALUCA C I am 5'2 175 lbs and big chested. I bought a large and it's slightly big on me but it will do. The great thing about zeagle zena is that is adjustable in every way. I would go with medium if I were you, nothing worst than gear that is too tight. I hope this helps.
RANDY H My wife is much shorter than you. She got a medium but we had to purchase small "shoulders" to fit the BC correctly. Based on that, I would say a medium would probably work the best out of the box. If you get the small, the shoulders may not adjust "long" enough and you'd have to spend about $100 for medium shoulder straps.
If you're concerned with the "volume" being too big, you can snug-down the adjustments quite a bit (not just via the waist strap).
The Zena is truly a great BC, my wife has had zero problems or complaints, even after 30+ dives (Cozumel and Bonaire)since purchase.
Hope this helps.
KEN Y Hello, You may want to think about a medium to large based on the chart on Zeagle's site. You want to go with what will fit your waist first and then bust secondary. With the medium, you don't have to pull the zipper all the way to the top if it's a bit snug. However, the large should still fit you based on your measurements. It's a great BC! You'll love it. Worse case scenario, if you buy it from Leisurepro, you can buy all 3 sizes and return the ones that don't fit. One word of caution with this BC. You will want a little room to tighten up even more when you actually get underwater. Don't get a size that is maxed out on land, meaning the straps have no more room to be tightened. Good luck!
MARIE B These BCD's run way large! Go with the small. Without a doubt.
CHRISOULLA R Hi! Im 32-24-32 and I'm 5'6 and im 106lbs. I have a small and even with the straps pulled as tight as they are I still have quite a bit of wiggle room that can be a pain in the arse. I think you will be okay. The chest and straps are bowed outward to accomodate the twins. I don't remember the dimensions between the smalls and mediums, but if you're on the larger end of both chest and waist, you might be better off with a medium.
Marilyn S The small will work well for you.
MICHAEL T I bought this for my wife. She has a medium frame, is 5'2 around 125 lbs. We first got the medium thinking she could adjust the straps as needed but when it got here and she put it on it was too loose in the shoulders no matter what we did. So we sent it back and got the small. Now perfect fit and she loves it. Just got back from Cozumel and it worked like a charm. You will be able to adjust the waist and chest larger and smaller to fit but your length in the torso will be the factor that really makes the decision for you. Good luck.
Shopper Hi! I'm 5'7 and weight 145-150 lbs fairly fit with a smaller upper body -usually I use small BCDs but should I consider a medium for ths one? never tried a Zeagle.
KEVIN S Zeagles tend to have a lot of room for adjustment. I have twin daughters @ 5'3", 100 lbs and they both wear an XS Zena with plenty of room for adjustment left.
DION P Hi
My wife is 5'9" 165 lbs with a large and long upper body. Her Zena is a medium and fits well. She suggests you stick with a small. BTW - She loves this BCD!
Have fun,
Dion
Marilyn S Especially with a smaller upper body I would recommend a small.
Katherine L According to the size chart i am a Small but I could have used an XS. I'm 5'4", weigh 125lbs and slim at top too. I find when its tightened over a 3mm wetsuit it rides up on me underwater. I did get the zeagle back pad which when worn makes it snug but usually i don't put it on as i don't like the bulk. If you normally get small then I would order that. You can always exchange it. As for the jacket style, I absolutely love it and its so comfortable to wear and to get in an out. Hope that helps.
DEBRA R No,get a sall, it is very adjustable and there will be plenty of space
KATHY W I'm also 5'7 and around 120 lbs. I have the S Zena, and it fits well - actually a little room to spare - even with a 5mm. I think you will be fine with a S. Enjoy!
MIKE D I would recommend a medium. My dive buddy is 5'2" and 125 lbs and she wears and small and it fits her perfectly.
KIM J I'm 5'5 and weigh 135 and wear the small. I cinch down all the connections and find it is still a little loose. I think you would be fine with the small.
Donna G I am very interested in a light weight BC made for women Explain this product's weight system. Are there clip in weight pouches or fold up pockets? If so, are the pockets velcro or clipped? Does it have two tank straps? I there would be a back view of this BC.
MIKE D Donna G.,
The weight system have have the slide in pockets with velcro flaps. There are two tank straps.
I do have to say that this is a fantastic BC. I purchased it for my business partner. She loves it. She is Master Scuba Diver rated with about 200 dives. This BC is easy to get in and out of. It is very configurable and fits her quite well. It's the first BC I've seen that is made well for a woman.
Mike D.
Open Water Instructor
DIANE E This BC has a nice snug fit. I really like the front zipper. The weights fit in zippered pockets one on each side of the tank in the back. The weights are loose in the pockets, and I divide weight evenly with each pocket. The weights have enough room in each pocket put do not slip loosely around. There is a red handle at the bottom of each weight pocket to pull for an emergency dumping of the weights. It does have two tank straps. My tank is always secure, tight and stays in place. I love the integrated weights and feel free diving in this BC not having the cumbersome weight belt on my waist.
KEVIN S Zeagle has pouches (called "yellow thingies") that you can put either soft or hard weights into. The Yellow thingies go into zip pockets on the BC.
Both of my daughters have Zenas. One has had hers for 2 years and the other for a little over a year. Neither would go back to any other type of BC.
I was so impressed with Zeagle that I bought a Brigade for myself. All 3 BCs have dual tank straps.
JULIE P Two tank straps. Weight pockets zip up, just drop in weights. Has a ripcord if you need to DC weights. Has 2 trim pocets in back. Best BC Iv'e ever had. i highly reccomend it.
Shopper Can this bcd bladder be changed out if you more lift or wanted the ability to carry doubles?
DIANE E I love this BCD but I have never changed out the bladder on this.
MIKE D I really can't give you a definitive yes on this. I purchased this as a gift for a very dear friend of mine. Having said that, I have the Zeagle Ranger and the answer to that BC is yes. Knowing Zeagle, I would suspect that you could do that to their entire line.
I will say that the Zena is a spectacular BC. It looks like is was custom fit for her. It's very "sexy" looking and easy to adjust to fit with all the straps.
JULIE P Don't think so, but check with Zeagle to be sure.
J W W Mine has been modified to carry a back tank plus two side ponys (30's). We attached the d-rings center behind the first pocket on each side and top of area where you might normally put a trim weight. Its a great Bc. Mine is almost two years old and still looks like new, 180 dives on it so far without repairs. I have never tried to change the bladder. I do know from an instructor it cannot be modified to carry side mounts only because of the back plate that is needed for side mounting. Happy Diving!
Loli C Hello, how much does this BCD weight? thanks.
PATTY F maybe 5 lbs.?!?!?!? Not heavy at all though!!! This is the best BCD ever for a woman!!! BEST!!!!
MICHAEL B Depends. Stated weight is 6.2 lbs. but with integrated weights you have to add that amount. Also, some of the attached pockets can be removed so it will then weight slightly less. Wife loves it, says it's very comfortable and fitting for a woman.
CASSANDRA S Its just slightly over 6lbs. Much lighter than most BCs.
Loli C Thanks Cassandra. Would this be the lightest/most compact one that you would recommend? Or is there another to compare with?
CASSANDRA S Hi Loli, I am not sure what type of diving you are looking to do with this BC. But its very easy to travel with, its fairly compact for an everday BC. There are travel BCs intended just for going on tropical vacations. I would recommend this BC for warm water and cooler diving. It has room to add pockets and accessories or just use it as is. I prefer back inflated BCs and this one is compact with no feeling of squeeze. The material in its design is compact but fairly soft. This is the only ladies BC I have ever owned. I would recommend looking at the Seaquest Pearl and Scubapro LadyHawk too. There are many great BCs, read and take into account others' reviews, and think about your "must have" list. For example if you are looking for lots of pockets the Zena would not be the option for you. I chose to purchase this product because of the options to add or subtract from this BC, the ease of traveling, and the great reviews of Zeagle.
Shopper I have this BC and love it, but need to add a backplate or something to add support. Is there a backplate that is compatible with it?
LeisurePro S Traditional steel or aluminum backplates usually aren't compatible with most BCD jackets, but if you are just looking to add a little extra support and not double tanks or anything, then check out Zeagle's Lumbar Pad.
Shopper Just curious if this is all black or does it come in a color (and which ones), thanks!
LeisurePro S This BC is only available in all black at this time.

Whats in the box:BCD, Bx Inflator, LP Quick Disconnect Hose The greatest difficulty in properly sizing a woman's Buoyancy System is not finding a smaller size, or allowing for the bust, but lies in the fact that women's bodies have a defined waist where a waistband must fasten in order to secure the BC. At the same time, women tend to have both a shorter torso length and a lower center of buoyancy compared to men. So conventional buoyancy systems, which would ideally be worn lower for best balance and comfort, must be worn higher, around the narrowest part of the waist, in order to be secure. The Zena's twin waist and hip band system provides a way for women to securely position the weights and buoyancy below waist level, around the body's center of buoyancy. All of Zeagle's buoyancy systems are available with women's sizing options and can be adjusted to provide excellent fit and functionality for women divers. The Zena BC, however, has been designed by women as a buoyancy system specifically for women. The twin straps adjust to fit waist and hips independently, while the elastic front panels provide outstanding fit and comfort. Zeagles patented PFS sizing system allows for the waist size, chest size, and torso length to be independently fitted. The Zena is designed to be fitted with the upper waistband at the natural waist, placing the weights and buoyancy low, around the body's center of buoyancy. The Zena closes in the front with a heavy-duty zipper for a snug and secure, yet non-restrictive fit. A Ripcord release weight system is standard.
- Elastic front panels with zipper closure for a comfortable, secure fit and a streamlined profile
- Dual waistbands allow weights to be positioned below waist level for superior comfort and balance
- Component sizing fits waist, torso length, and chest size independently
- 31-lb capacity bladder
- 30-lb capacity Ripcord weight system
- 20-lb capacity rear mount weight system
- Expandable mesh "Quick Pocket" at waist
- 4 Stainless D-Rings
