MICHAEL M Do these bands come with the protective rubber pads to prevent scratching the cylinder?
THOMAS L NO and yes. These straps do come with rubber pads to hold the tank in place so that it does not slip out of the strap as easily and those do protect the tank from minor paint scratching/pealing, however the steel cams will still damage your paint/tank exterior because they do not have any rubber under them. The cams gouge your tank (not just remove the paint) every time you cleat it down.
I have to agree with Andrew that they are not as easy to use as other quick release models I've seen (ScubaPro). I would have preferred a standard strap to these quick release ones.
MICHELLE I I purchased these about a year ago and they did come with a rubber piece. It protects the tank and really helps keep the strap from moving. I had to contact the company for a better sheet on how to place the rubber bumper but they were very responsive and sent an email that had everything I needed.
I really like these. This is the third type of straps I have used and these work well.
SEAN K No protective pads in 2009 model... things may have changed, but you can get pads on GOLEM GEAR from Halcyon.
KONSTANTIN V No. I got these bands without any extras.
ANDREW F yes they do come with rubber pads. these are not the most user friendly cams. It took me a while to get comfortable and fast at changing out tanks(important as I'm a commercial diver and avid rec diver). Co workers to this day get frustrated when they try to change out my tanks when we're not using surface supplied air, I have gotten used to them over time, hated them at first. they are durable for whatever it is worth. good luck.
MICHAEL M Interesting. I was doing a little research and getting conflicting answers. I know the old ones didnt include rubber pads but it looks like the new ones are supposed to? I am hoping LeisurePro is selling the newer version instead of the old stock?
If you look at the manual from xsscuba on their website it shows them with rubber pads.
ALLEN W No, they don't and they can scratch painted cylinders.
BEN B Yes, the ones I bought in September did
